Aaron/Soh had good head to head against a few pairs. One was IND top pair. They had a 7-0 lead but it was broken at the INA Super 1000, I think.
Lakshya Sen wins a 3 game thriller against Lee Zia Jia. Lee had superior attack and defense and had many easy points from his attack. Laskshya was better in net play, soft touches and patient rallies. Lakshya could have finished in 2 games but was forced to play 3. It was a fantastic match from both players!
Less rest to MS.. Particularly for ASG... Should give more rest to MS & WS players... Pairs can play 2 matches/day (like Korean double WC winner)...at this level, again..
so happy that Anthony won against the mad Joffrey, anyone else would have gotten at least red card for that kind of behavior (he violated at least 4 rules...) and naturally after this outbreak it was pretty obvious that ASG will win it, if it is umpire decision just get on and concentrate on next points, if VA would have done - it could have went both ways
All credits to Sr. Popov... Migrating from Bulgaria, looks like his full life dedicated badminton.. Single Man, produced 2 world class players!!.. that too football dominated nation.. BWF should honor him.. Christo is next VA!, my wife told during previous tournament..
still miles better than the ''other' lady https://www.reddit.com/r/badminton/comments/1bfkzh0/indian_lady_commentary/
In my humble opinion, I feel that ASG deserved to win that not-so-clear-cut (or controversial ) point at the net as that's not the way VA should hope to save himself from defeat, for whether the shuttle actually crossed the net or not is arguable or debatable - it's too close to call. But the fact is anybody in ASG's shoes would most probably finish it off whilst VA could, at best, only hope for a fault to draw level and force the deuce, after which the final outcome is anybody's guess. In other words, an indisputable point won is best , simple and uncomplicated, no what-if, if only, and suchlike, but, pardon me, that's just my opinion. Personally, I've always regarded Viktor Axelsen as, at most, the first first among equals, no, not the dominant one, maybe briefly (for several months to a year, at best) but certainly not in the manner comparable to the likes of the GOAT Lin Dan, or even Lee Chong Wei (yes, if not for LD, he clearly stood head and shoulders above the rest during LD's era) or Chen Long ever was. That's not to say, VA will never be dominant beyond question one day, but that's a question only time can tell. Cheers.
I don’t quite understand why ASY keeps playing tournaments in this condition. You have a living example in MS whose career is in shatters because his team pushed him beyond his limits Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dont get deceived by the looks. Sung Ji hyun is the coach. You know about Sung ji hyun when she was playing. She looked like she fall down even in 1st rally of the match. But when the match keeps going, she also keep going .
asy trying to inject some pace but once the rally got longer she just couldn't keep up anymore. did you hear that heavy breath ?
