There's an All England Curse for MD winners in an Olympic year. Since the 21st century no MD All England winner has reached the Finals of the Olympics. Was that a factor for the top 4 seeds early exit?

no curse, i think Lin Dan, Ge Fei/Gu Jun won All England and Olympic at the same year twice.
Also Bang Soo-hyun, Gong Zhichao and Li Xuerui.

I think the logic behind is, after lost in All England, people work and train harder for Olympic.

ASY does not even need a coach. Her game invites 120% concentration from her opponents

akane was injured at the asian games, and since her injury asy has only won the asian games title and nothing for the rest of the year. she basically won malaysia & french open this year while still recovering from her injury too. hear what steen pedersen said at the french open final last sunday. result wise it's been good for her but not entirely playing wise
