PV Sindhu wins a hard fought 3 game match against Michelle Li. Sindhu still looks rusty and needs a couple more tournaments to get to a good level.
Li Michelle is one of the great talent from Pan Am countries, whom i really admire for her dedication to the sport. Add Zhang Beiwen to the list. Tomorrow she is waiting for Sindhu . It would be another long match. She defeated Marin today .
SK doesn’t have any realistic chance. If he falters tomorrow, I think it will become mathematically impossible too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just saw Sindhu Instagram post, Prakash Padukone and Agus Santoso were sitting in coaching chair. Felt nice after reading it that Prakash was back to coaching chair after 25 years. Must be special for both of them.
He looked tired, possibly somewhat injured. But SYQ was just too good. In other news LZJ lost in 2 straight to Magnus Johannesen.
Yeah. It was strange watching him sit there in coaching bench. First time for him too I guess. Yesterday, Li targeted Sindhu's weakness relentlessly. I saw the highlights. In those situations, she usually go for clears which is regular for her during extreme pressure conditions but yesterday , I felt she has some variations and did not lose balance in those situations. That itself is the reflection of the training..
she is rusty because she is aging already. Last year she joined so many tournaments already and not really good result.
Srikanth Kidambi started well and finished poorly loosing it mentally in 3 games against Lu Guang Zu. PV Sindhu started slow but showed composure and patience to win in 3 games against Beiwen Zhang. She is showing her old fighting spirit which is great to watch.
I'm assuming that they're trying to qualify for the Olympics so go through with the crazy strapping and leg support? Unfortunately I don't see a world in which they can qualify over the many other top Japanese pairs. Especially when they play full defensive, lackluster and give away cheap points...
Treesa/Gayatri beat Yuki/Sayaka in 2 games. Unfortunate that Sayaka was playing with an injured leg. They can't beat top pairs in this condition, better to let fully fit Japanese pairs try for Olympic Qualification.
