The slower playing condition really helps shetty/rankireddy defense big time. same thing at the asian games
Chirag/Satwik is the most explosive md pair ever I think… even cai/fu at their prime is not as explosive as this (also the fact cai yun’s smash power is several level below chirag (both known as playmaker for their partner))
Yeah the fun thing is that, even with slow shuttle, the opponent most likely can’t (or do not dare to) play defensive mode vs the md wr1 from india
This is simply not true lol. rankireddy probably better at finding angles with his smashes but cai/fu were relentless on the attack. fu could smash 6-7 times in a row without even looking like he tried that hard. cai yun, although he's not really a hard hitter but he could hit it really steep. he was actually pretty efficient from the back unlike zhang nan for example.
There is such a thing as Notional Ranking for pairs which split up with their regular partners https://extranet.bwf.sport/docs/doc...lanation of Adjusted and Notional Ranking.pdf
And you can see from the M&Q list here that they have notional rankings https://extranet.bwf.sport/docs/eve...rt Version 4 _Tuesday, 31st October 2023_.pdf
It really put so much mental pressure when you play ranki/shetty because you need to play flat all the time, can't use the backcourt that much
Wow thats tense at the end. If CHN wins it, you could sense they will take the 3rd as well. 6th Final of the year for ShettyRR then.
Im gona be replaying that rally quite a few times and I do think in all honesty thats rally of the day
That last rally wrapping up the match really solidify chirag/satwik’s significant improvement in playing defense,,, and then they counter attack with only one smash from chirag in match point,,, making them more complete package as md player
Even in these slow conditions Nishimoto has got so a lot of first smash winners, it seems to be a bit too much to Zhao
