is there a reason why Yonex chose this model to test the world record smashing speed, instead of something like the astrox 99 or 100? Surely an astrox series racket being stiffer and head heavier would generate a faster smash than this even/head light balance nanoflare 1000z?
Imagine you are doing a drag race. Do you put as many horsepower in your car as possible? Or do you try and make it as light and aerodynamic as possible? It almost certainly would be interesting to see just how much speed you could get from the Astrox 100zz or 99pro. But historically Yonex have used head light / balanced racquets from memory for this stunt. Voltric zforce1 might have been used at one point, but I can't remember.
In all honesty, horsepower would definitely matter the most in a drag race and how quickly it can be transferred to the power train.
From my perspective. Smash power or speed depend on 2 main factor. Head weight & swing speed. Swing faster with less weight vs more weight with less speed resulting equal smash power. But to makes thing complicated, everyone is different & had different of optimal point. You cant add alot of weight but would slow down the speed greatly. Then why Yonex choose this model? Its all about marketing. Its a little salt to makes it yummy, attracting to buy. Afterall who did the test? The pros? With their intense training, they could swing way way faster to compensate the less weight. But reality, who in the mortal world which could achieve the pros swing speed. So all in all, dont buy it just coz it had the record of fastest smash & hope you could improve your smash in a blink of eye. It just another gimmic that not always fit our reality.
And then when it comes to using it in a real game it can be like when Trunks in Dragonball Z trained to get a strong muscly form and he was too slow to hit perfect form Cell ^^.
It's simple really...it's the racket that they were introducing. Had the 800 Pro came out beforehand, I'm sure they would have done the same. As for why they didn't use the Astroxes, it's the same reason the record is somewhat of a sham. How can it be a record when not everyone is invited. Where was Viktor? Did they try to invite people contracted to other brands? I am not doubting Rankireddy's power, or the racket's properties. But it's like saying I'm the best in of the group I play with, therefore I must be the best. The 100zz had the aura of the racket being used by the current Men's #1, and the racket that made him darn near invincible. The 99 Pro was the racket for the Maestro Momota before his accident. The ArcSaber11 Pro had all the history behind it. The 1000z is a new model.
Broken? 1. Verify if fake. 2. How broken? More ok if clashed. Not OK if they strung too high - and they may not know that they’ve strung it too high if it’s a bad stringer.
To me (experienced competitive MD player) 100ZZ 4U vs 1000Z 4U: 100 feels more balanced. Its easier to play with/more neutral like the Arc11pro 4u. 1000z still easy to play with but “snappier” w weight more at tip of head but lighter overall. It is NOT a typical feeling HL racket. I wld not call it HL. Other NFlares are HL.
AGREED! Ive played w it 4u and the 1000z 4u. A lil too flexy for me tho - it easily twists in ur hands.
See other posts here. Ill add that it feels quicker and is flexier all around incl. torque wise. Head is full size vs. Z smaller head. *Also see CK Yews and Yuno’s youtube reviews. They agree.
You need to tell us *what tension* etc. this is being strung at! Unless u tell at end which wld be silly. I havent watchd whole thing
I found some big missing bits of paint on my daughter’s 1000z 3U She (right handed) clashed with her doubles partner (left handed ). Looks rather horrific but the racquet is still intact.
Yup. I had two and one of the frame broke from a pretty low impact clash. The other got a chip paint easily as well. In comparison to the past couple years of yonex products this 1000z is def fragile. Almost at the arcsaber fb level
