Momota has improved a lot from what i have seen him before. His movement around the court, his smashes everything seems better. His vigour to achieve something in his comeback is clearly visible. This guy really need a break. Loh Kean Yew is waiting in Round 1. Imoh, the crowd is bursting. My ear is gone. Why this much drums ? I get a vibe of Indonesia.

LKY, then Gemke (my guess), then SYQ or Chia Lee (my guess) before the semis... Not easy at all. Rooting for Momota.

This also depends on quality of players he is facing. Last week, the quality is so low , he could break through his first title after so long time. This should give him confidence in facing tougher opponents.

    I hope Momota losing.

Viktor always know to listen to his body.

I don't want Momota win Super tour 300 and maybe 500, then got injured again.

Unless he goes out guns blazing on some wild and successful run at the remaining Major tournaments, he's not going to qualify for Paris. Why not take what you can get right now and win as much as you can as long as the body can sustain?
Plus, confident seems like a phase thing; when you're on a high from winning (despite against lesser opposition), you get confident and it helps having this momentum. Who knows when he's going to win anything again?

What a disappointment for local fans that both Fukushima/Hirota (formerly Saishunkan) and then Shida/Matsuyama (currently Saishunkan) bowed out in R1. Not to mention that Yamaguchi (also Saishunkan) is unable to play due to injury.

Japanese WD have been declining for sure. They couldnt win major tournaments and under the shadow of China and Korea pairs now.
    Liu/Tan have bright future ahead.

Nishikawa is probably selling the team as we speak. He's obviously invested so much into the club and this must be an all-time low for him.

Being the first match after a medical layoff, I think it is ok for her to take it slow and feel the court against an opponent she is confident of beating. You can see from the 17-20 down in G1, she gets the next 5 pts to turn into 22-20, that if she wants to, she can step on the gas. Also in G2, she played much faster. So I would take it as her choice rather than she cannot.

yea she played slightly faster in the 2nd game but I feel like she's still far from 100%, probably 80% at best. she could inject some pace when she's on the attack but in the defense you could see how slow her movement was. there was a moment in the 2nd game where she went for the dive towards her forehand side and she couldn't get up after that

I think he is generally a passive and shy person with few words or emotions

NTY finally upgraded his lower body movement, at least a few percent faster than before.
I'm glad he drop that one-knee dive that he usually used when intercepting backhand smashes, scraped his knee a few times.

NTY advance to R16, next facing Viktor Axelsen (if he's healthy). Should be a good match to gauge his ability.
