Sorry, went back to the match after I last posted, that’s most annoying, it was the same for here when WC was on. Umm…LZJ had a mini collapse at 9-4 up, went in mid interval at 11-10 down, saw the gesture when he lost the point at 14-11, not as bad as WHY game but it was still a mini sulk, finally going down 21-12, worrying trait rearing it’s ugly head, seems he just give up.
What to say about Lee Zii Jia , man? He can play like a man possessed ( by the badminton demon?), beyond comprehension, uncannily out of this world , only when he has nothing to lose and not expected to win, totally no pressure on him to deliver. LZJ is just "abnormal", a strange phenomenon, absolutely unpredictable; that's right, you never know which LZJ would turn up !?
Yep, but it was the manner of the comeback that’s of a concern to LZJ camp, one minute he’s invincible and very ordinary the next.
A bit frustrating to watch LZJ play, I know he's already famous and rich so he doesn't have to win titles anymore technically. But every player wants a legacy too right? He really need to win titles consistently and major ones too, to really be remembered. I think he has the physical and talent also but idk why sometimes he gives up so fast. I really felt he could have won the previous match against LSF if he tried harder. Sent from my SM-A136B using Tapatalk
If there is live telecast in the country, those people in those country cannot watch BWF Youtube for live unless you have a VPN and can set it to NED. https://bwfworldtour.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2023/10/25/where-to-watch-yonex-french-open-2023/

to be fair this was LZJ 4th tournament and 15th game this month. for player as inconsistent as LZJ, fatigue will worsen him.
I’ve seen him in a couple of tournaments but never at this level and this good, could France’s appointment of Fernando Rivas as headcoach in anticipation for Paris 2024 beginning to pay off?.
Katethong is having a good run in these 2 tournaments. Matching Sindhu. Somehow I feel Sindhu should have short hair to have better mobility.
To me Merkel’s movement is still a bit rough round the edges, not the smooth precise movement of the top rank players.
