Different LZJ today, dictated the match today, stronger all round but with clear mind, very good.

This performance from LZJ got to shut up some haters and amatuer critics from last week trying to put words in other's mouth saying he would never able to beat WHY again or that he would not show up this week to play.

WHY didn't play as well as he did in Odense. He looked jaded and tired. Maybe he doesn't want to play his compatriot in the next round.

The score could be wider had he made less of his favourite hitting out the shuttles.

Yes, going forward, I think if LZJ limits his hitting outs to 5 or less, there is very small chance he would lose the game. In some games, more than half of opponent's points came from his hitting outs. Basically his greatest enemy is himself.

5 is an acceptable number. He likes to play and confused his opponent and give them false hope but he had been overdoing it. :D

Wow, Okay, there's only one explanation, folks, for what we've just witnessed - the Great Reversal where LZJ not only avenged his previous humiliating defeat to Weng Hongyang (the so-called Lin Dan 2.0 according to some seers, not me) but actually gave WHY a taste of his own medicine. Well, that's the ordinary, normal or commonsense view of what you thought happened.

However, there's another simpler and likelier narrative and, that is, today Weng Hongyang played like the new Lin, Oops:oops:, sorry, typo error, I mean, the old WHY version 0.2. :p:D:rolleyes:.

But that's not to take away anything from LZJ's splendiferous performance. Shall we say, LZY today played like the new LCW or LCW ver 2.0 ?!o_O:):D

it is not like WHY did not try, and bear in mind that he has played a lot less in this three weeks than LZJ, but today LZJ not only attack but defense was extremely good, and even unforced errors count was really small - so total domination this time

his net game was also spot on. heard Gill Clark say that this was LZJ first ever win, set and game of the french open. all previous losses was 1st round exits by 2 straight sets. small wins i guess.

Think his red headband may have unsettled WHY.

Other than this, I can't find anything different where badminton is concerned.

Same racquet, same coaches, same shuttles, etc...

LZJ has beaten WHY in last year Asian Badminton Championship 2022, so last night is not the first ever win against WHY...
