Team matches create different pressures but I still can’t see India MD2 pulling off an upset win. Well, maybe they can. Ou can really get nervous and if he’s going to get nervous, it’s this place and with the additional pressure of the China women being literally kicked in the butt earlier in the day.

It can be a tactical decision to leave him in.

The clearest example I remember is 1998 Thomas cup semifinal. The MS1 for Indonesia was injured but still went and played to ‘use up’ China’s best singles player.

Indonesia went on to win 3-1.

Here’s why. You can see top 20 guys playing against each other in 1st round and 900th ranked getting a bye and directly reaches 2nd round.

After much consideration, I see nothing much can be done over it. It's computerised and no human is involved other than ranking allocation into the system. At the same time, it's good for the sport so that minnow countries can have a chance to play with big names.

I read on twitter that SJH and KGE are the number 1 trending in weibo right now because of this gesture

    sjh 1.jpg lyc.jpg

They thought both SJH and KGE were mocking HBJ after the game, even liu yuchen liked the post. can any chinese here confirm this ?

Off topic- but did anyone watch trap shooting final ? Chinese shooter hats off- from missing 1st and 3rd shot - last position to hitting 47/50 to go to the top. What a class. Epitome of composure and determination

Why are the CHN players hitting out so much at the sidelines?
