Srikanth Kidambi survives in 3 games against Maisnam Meiraba 21-19, 18-21, 21-17. Srikanth was getting frustrated as Meiraba was defending well and playing well at the net. Srikanth had to dig deep and use all his experience to cross the line. Meiraba is definitely one for the future.

The best doubles players are strong at the front court and back court. For example Jwala Gutta. Chirag Shetty started as a strong back court player and became a strong front court player as well. Satwik Rankireddy is strong at the back court and ok on the front court. Ashwini Ponappa is strong at the back court and ok at the front court.

Tanisha is strong on the back court and weak on the front court. Until Tanisha improves her net play all her partnerships will struggle. Treesa is strong the back court and ok at the front court. Gayatri is strong at the front court and ok on the backcourt.

Emerging talent in WS, Devika Sihag and Isharani Baruah looked promising. Isharani is among the few WS players who can jump smash.

Yup, he slipped and fell on the court. Tanisha and Pratheek were left stranded.

Hope Mithun also reaches Final. Remembering Mithun won MBA club tournament at Puchong in KL during 2014-15? by defeating Indonesian in Final.

Mithun defeats SK to set up a PPBA vs PGBA final.

Btw, where does this result leave SK? I get a feel his good playing days are over

Srikanth was lucky to survive against Meiraba Luwang. Mithun Manjunath is older, stronger and has the experience to take down Srikanth. This will be Srikanth's last opportunity to attempt to get an MS slot for the 2024 Olympics. The younger players are going to keep improving with each passing year. Next year's Thomas Cup will be interesting with younger players pushing the senior players and taking their places!

On current form I am expecting a low key All England performance for India. It will be a surprise if any player manages a QF appearance.

Priyanshu is impressive and seriously fast on the court. Mithun was always good but haven't impressed on international stage yet. Anupama / Ashmita both were good. The duel was worthy of the final.

Olympic Qualification starts May 2023, Sudirman Cup onwards. While we hope for medals in MS, WS, MD and WD. Just qualifying in XD will be an achievement.

Lakshya Sen had shoulder and nose surgeries after the Thomas Cup. It's a race against time to get back in top form. If he needs more time, one of the younger players will take his place. HS Prannoy will need to get his focus and rhythm back, he needs to maintain his level till 2024. Can Prannoy hold his place? Srikanth Kidambi has to get his confidence back and find a way into the top 10. Priyanshu Rajawat looks set to make his way into the top 16 by April 2024. Priyanshu will be a strong contender for one of the 2 places, if the existing senior players fail to step up. Maisnam Meiraba is a slow climber and will be a contender for the next Olympic cycle 2028.

PV Sindhu has a year to regain confidence and find the big match hunger. Satwik/Chirag need to keep themselves injury free and maintain their level. Gayatri/Treesa need to step up and maintain a high level for a shot at a medal. Treesa needs to work on her net play as well.

Ishaan's injury is an ACL tear. He will need time to rest, recover before playing matches. Tanisha and Pratheek will need to make a decision of changing partners or wait and hope that Ishaan will be able to play at his current level again. Both Tanisha and Ishaan need to work on their front court play to trouble the top teams.

Akarshi kashyap know clearly how to get to final by beating local girls. But her game is nowhere near international standards. Fortunately, Anupama has defeated her in the finals.

realistically MD is the only one we have expectations from. WD , over the course of the year we will know their relative level. Considering they beat chinese WD, decen t performances can be expected and if in top 8 by end of year , medal expected . MS is too volatile , Sen off colour ,below par performance from all MS, just Priyu looks on the rise . WS sindhu very below par now, needs to climb hard. Anupama , tasnim , Ashmita the only ones that can contend for top 15 spots which we desperately need. Tanya is also quite good. XD below par
