Could this also be the reason why he left BAM? Since BAM signed with Yonex and LZJ don't like the Ax99 pro feel?
I think this is my first time encountering a player addressing their racket of choice/reasons to the public; most are just quiet with it. While there are certain group of players who use commercial rackets, there are some of them that have the "privilege" to use custom-made ones (this exist on other sports as well e.g. golf). It varies from weight class, grip size to repaints (which Yonex is notoriously known of thanks to the hawk-eyes of the racket enthusiast over the net). A simple one that I know is Taufik (QWIIW) uses G6 grip size & these are smaller than most of the commercial racket (G4/G5). It was not offered until the 2010s, or rather limited to certain models/brands.
I heard previously there was rumour that when LCW was first given Duora 10, he's not used to it & Yonex repainted his ZF2 with Duora 10 paint job. Can't really confirm if it's true or not though.
I applaud his move of putting it out there that he's not using Ryuga2. He's been reserved with what he posted on his social media since his meltdown on Instagram (2021 Thailand Tour). I'm just a little bit confused when he claimed that he doesn't care about what people have to say about him (in his recent vodcast with Antonsen) but he unfollowed all badminton media and minimized his activity on social media. I thought it is because he cared therefore he need to block these information so that he could focus on his game. It sounded like chest puffing if you ask me. I'd give him a lot of props if he'd just admit that these information would affect him mentally and that's why he blocked them all.
Based on a lot of feedback from Ryuga2 users, Ryuga2 is nothing like its predecessor. Flexier shaft and lighter head. Suitable for doubles more than singles game.
Maybe because he trained in denmark. I guess lky and lzj should just train with the danish team more.
I am honestly frustrated anytime when LZJ leads ahead and then proceed to lost points in a row for now reason. Complacent? It happened during his match against Rhustavito, Axelsen, Laskya Sen, and Zhao Junpeng. I am not convinced on his long lift as well, throwing away 3-4 points in a row just in a single stroke.
i agree it's very concerning. it's like LZJ panics whenever his opponent whittle's the lead he has built up and start making successive silly errors
Beat Jonathan Christie at QF to reach Denmark Open SF, most likely against Axelsen. Observation: - All my previous point still stands, just like usual. - Lack of focus when leading, in G2 (proceed to lost), and G3 again. - Imprecise and terrible shots quality again, especially when lifting. - Long, long, long. Too many times lifting long, almost gifting the match. - Honestly, I am quite shocked at how his game and footwork quality keeps declining each tournament.
Indeed, I noticed only somewhat minor amount of long lifts in this match. His net play today was pretty much perfect.
