Momota's still training with the team until 15 Octuber. Whether someone who wanted to retire still has mind to train with the team ? So, please stop sharing fake news.
Momota's name is not on the NBA's list of players who will be sent to the Denmark and French Open. → extension://elhekieabhbkpmcefcoobjddigjcaadp/https://www.badminton.or.jp/playersInfo/docs/DenmarkFrench2022_20221004.pdf. Sometimes there are delays in sending updated information to the BWF, and I think that the NBA document is likely to be the accurate one. On the other hand, Momota's name can be found on the list of players participating in the national training camp that precedes these two tournaments, so he may actually be in training right now. I personally haven't seen any reports of Momota's imminent retirement, but there are signs that he is considering the next stage of his career. Actually, if he does not participate in the European Tour this Autumn, then it is difficult for me to imagine any further international tournaments for him. On the domestic front, the All Japan Championships, held in December, as well as this year's S/J League, may well prove to be his last competitive matches.
lol i didnt share the news. as i said, i just read an article and i want someone to confirm it for me.
Im actually surprised that/if he withdraws from the European legs. Why would he do that unless he’s injured or something. I know he has not been playing well, but not playing in those tournaments is not the answer, he needs to at least stay match fit and get some ranking points even if its not a lot if he loses early.
I don't think it is a delay. If Momota doesn't take part Denmark and French Open, he or NBA must announce to the host as soon as possible to let them replace his name by others. Substitute athletes do not always stay in Europe, it's a schedule for them to prepair accommodation, flying ticket,... (for others, it takes time, much time) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> In my opinion, Momota still wait for the training camp to end (15 octuber), then he will decide to stay or go. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> I don't think a person who is about to retire would practice with the team.
simply: If Momota will not play in Denmark and French Open, he come to training camp for what ? Practice for S/J League in December ?
Because he has to. I'm not sure he is free to do things his way at the NBA. He'll probably do what they ask him to do and he won't budge as he feels like he owes them for his post Rio reintegration to the team. Pretty sure he is considered to be done for by the NBA. They just slowly let him fade away before any official announcements (if there will be any) as to not make any waves and to push away any responsibilities from them. If they really wanted KM to be back on top, it would have been perceived already. At the moment, he doesn't look like a player being given the maximum support possible from his asociation, expecially given his latest interviews and pointing hints in the media/NBA way of doing things. Japanese badminton players are not known for their longevity and I believe that it has nothing to do with the actual athletes' capacities.
I don't know why we didn't see any picture which took from training camp as usual. We can see Momota at the camp to understand partly what was happening. This time, so strange!
Momota is the happiest when he is training, and I think that he will have wanted to be part of the national training camp. The pressure of having to play an official match won't be weighing on him, and he will be doing what he enjoys the most: playing badminton.
This is the newest from Momota. I hope this news can end all of the fake news recently. https://news.ntv.co.jp/category/sports/40a959c5625a4c759a1ed21c90fa57ef
The content of this article was posted on this thread by @justiceforlcy on October 2 in its YouTube version. Have a look at Momota's body language. What do you think?
He wants to back but he doesn't how. He doesn't know where is the problem. Lee Zii Jia was back to Ryuga I. I wonder Yonex dare to allow Momota to back to 99 orange ??? SOMEONE TOLD ME THAT INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS CAN PLAY ALL RACKETS, BUT ... I DOUBT IT

Is momota planning to take a long break? Is he taking a longer break than thru hylo open? Looks like he’s on the list for Aus? Im not sure how long a break he can afford to take. Unlike SYQ, he might not be able to chase and get his ranking points back if his world ranking drops too much. He definitely can’t afford a year off.
If he took the break and found himself unable to bounce back, he could easily start a ”Kento Momota Badminton Camp”. I would easily pay 3000$ to train there for a week although that might even be too little! Peter Gator has done something similar and has a lot of clients from the videos I have seen.
