It's not about beeing seeded, they just did not qualify with any pairs. It's really tough to climb the ranking at the moment, due to it still counting results 3 years back. Liu/Ou only got into the tournaments because of notional points, where they count your ranking points from your other pairings. And in men's double only 48 pairs can enter, and some of them need to be from specific part of the world
You mean Viktor vs Vitidsarn? It's not David vs Goliath for me, because Vitidsarn came in second in the BWF World Tour Finals, just losing to Viktor in the finals, and Vitidsarn also won the German Open, beating Laksha Sen to win it. Vitidsarn is also a three time junior world champion. I think based on Vitidsarn's last year of performance, he is probably a top 10 player in the world. David vs Goliath would be like Viktor vs a player outside of the 30th ranking in the world. Not a top 10 player in the world.
Putting Kunlavut @8.75. No upsets yet today but imo the price isnt this high. id be more confident if this is 2nd week tournament like Axelsen vs Antonsen in the Thai Final with this kind of price
What I wanna know is how On earth Viktor has 4-14 H2H against Momota It seems he was the only who could have beaten VA sadly due to accident he is out of form
The list of qualifiers can be found here: https://extranet.bwfbadminton.com/docs/events/4524/docs/WR 26-04-22 phase 1 _Week-17_ Phase ll R Ver 9 MD .pdf You can see 5 Chinese MD "declined": He / Tan, rank 18 Huang / Liu, rank 27 Ou / Zhang, rank 29 Di / Wang, rank 46 Liu / Zhang, rank 68 Are saying that all these five pairs have retired? Can't you use notional points for WC?
Kunlavut trying too hard but viktor is just an ALIEN much beyond any player who has ever existed. no one had this type of domination , no matter what era or what player. some Ld lcw fans would like to disagree but even they didn't win all matches this easily. competition level is subjective, you can't say competition is easier now .
Just want to hop in to say, congratulations Malaysia! The long-awaited BWC gold, what a sweet present for one of the big badminton country!
And the fact that being a "top 10 player" in MS means very little in terms of quality. Heck, Momota is #2, Antonsen #3 and then there's 7 other no-tournament winning, inconsistent dudes, who show up once or twice a year, get hyped and then vanish for the rest of the season.
just trying pointing out to that guy that this is literally a true david vs goliath match KV literally doesn't have anything to hurt VA
