Endo retired because he lost a bit of motivation. It is there in his retirement statement if i remember correctly. I don't tihink age matters especially in MD that much. Boe played superly till 40, and Hendra doesn't seem to stop anywhere soon. But i feel for ENDO. Everyone retires when their form wanes, but as far as ENDO is concerned, he and YUTA where just at their getting to their peak to be honest. (YUTA was beginning to be unmatchable in MD). I wish he had played this World championships and retired after the Japan open 2022.

The competition is absolutely lousy and you know it. You can rest assured though that nobody is going to give two cents about it in 10 years time when looking back at Axelsen's career. Only titles matter and nobody's going to say "well, he's won the vast majority of his titles in the weakest era of all time", even though that is true.

Barring injury, he's going to win a lot more titles, because there is absolutely no one on the horizon to challenge him. He also puts in both the work and the performances to stay on top and doesn't get complacent, so he deserves all his accolades.
He would be daft if he didn't to be honest. He's got the perfect opportunity to achieve historic levels of titles.

It's too bad that Carolina Marin and Yamaguchi had to meet in the quarter finals. It would have been better if they met in the semi-finals or finals. But there are so many good WS these days, with no one WS player really dominating and winning all the top titles like the OG and WC. On the other side, you have Chen Yufei and TTY, so there are just so many good WS players now.

That was quite scary for a second, really good that Marin didn't seem to hurt herself too badly.

WS matches tomorrow should be absolutely insane.

Why do they allow Marin to waste so much time and scream incessantly? On top of that, her bad attitude smashing her racquet into the ground makes her such a horrible player to watch overall…

Ahh Gregory Mairs and Jenny Moore could be promising as commentators, judging from the way they speak on their vlog!

WS is the only exciting category left, MS, MD & XD has become so boring and predictable, WD...couldn't bother watching it

Tomorrow Viktor vs CTC should be an easy semi final for Viktor based on H2H record.

    MD is exciting though..

I dont think FajarRian can live with ShettyRR steep smash. I dont like how Rian awkward defending stance. His handling is just so unnatural.

for me the hardest to guess who will win is WS and MD with this SF lineup.

No. I think Watanabe also denied this when asked in an interview.

Greg seemed somewhat a bit lifeless, maybe nervous. live commentary is pretty hard to do.I thought jenny did a bit better than Greg though on the yamaguchi/marin match
