The whole problem was at the bottom half with LZJ early exit and from there, momota’s path was pretty much clear to the finals.

So at this time there is no solution to defeat viktor other than waiting for LZJ in 101% of his physical and mental condition or joining Viktor's camp in dubai.
Maybe, after this sad ending, Momota also will be interested in joining viktor's camp in dubai.
    LOL...

What about the Lin Dan - Lee Chong Wei era when the two of them both dominated? Was that boring?

Victor in the past had nothing over the edge of Momota except for his attack, which could barely penetrate his defence. Not stamina, not technique, not defence, not mentally, Momota was just more well rounded than him. Now it's the reverse. Momota just doesn't have any advantage's over him. He's going to have to revise his training plan because if nothing changes then this is it. It's over

True.. But Momota won his titles before VA reached his prime. If Momota had been born 3-4 years later he might not have won anything anyway, because they would have reached their prime simultaneously. (Or born 15 years earlier could have been even worse, for both)
We’ll never know. Things are as they are. A lot of if’s and might’s. All they can do is beat the opponents they meet.

Was there any clear winners from Momota in those 2 games?

Momota's eye was injured and caused him vision issues in the months following. The driver of the van transporting him died in that crash.

They're an exception, really. Because we would not get to see such kinds of players emerging in these recent years.
The very definition of generational greats.

I think he wants to end Momota recovery and end his dream of a comeback. He was merciless.

I don't really agree on this. If u look at the period when both were active on the circuit between 2014 to 2019 (both are at the same age), you can see that Momota had a clear edge over VA.
Winning the Olympic, being a dad, etc, maybe, help make VA more calm and confident on the court, and now the player to beat.

One thing I notice, japanese players rarely flick their opponent.

Rian just doesnt have mentality. 3 serves errors how can you expect to win a tightly contested match.

many titles that shouldve been yours just flew away.

The Daddies watching the final in hotel : "Did we beat these 2 pairs in WC 2019? We are getting old."
