What do you think his real seeding is based on his recent performance? Just look at the ranking of those he lost to.

Hmm, not sure. But if that way, antonsen and CTC should not be seeded 3rd and 4th either.

Thats how CHN is, but making finals are just aint enough. When you dont win titles, thats failure in CHN.

Just look at ZhengHuang. They are clearly unbeatable yet a silver in OG and there are thoughts that they should be separated. Its huge tournament, but its just 1 tournament, these days.. In the eye of so many WorldTour SS next year, even the CHN team wouldnt think of separating them ever again.

Some CHN potential talents suffer severe injury including Lin GP, he recalled back into national team in late 2019 then pandemic arrived on January 2020 that hampered him to take part in BWF satellite tournaments, he announced retirement after National Games completion last year.

Because BWF still keeps 2019 World Ranking intact until 2nd August when they will begin to remove those long-expired ranking points gradually.

For fun, I calculated the MS ranking based on the last 52 weeks, including this weekend's Indonesia Open. A bit uncertain at the bottom of course. I might have forgotten someone who has climbed a lot recently. I tried to include everyone who could be relevant for top 20.
But this looks like somewhat reasonable seeding to me.

    1. Viktor Axelsen, 108906
    2. Lee Zii Jia, 82978
    3. Loh Kean Yew, 76614
    4. Lakshya Sen, 73614
    5. Jonatan Christie, 69732
    6. Chou Tien Chen, 67926
    7. Anders Antonsen, 66610
    8. Kidambi Srikanth, 65461
    9. Kento Momota, 60974
