The magic of thousands of screams in the Istora helped Ginting escape from Kunlavut.

Ginting bought time to win the two last points.

Call medical, then call line judge to clear the court after that, then pick "feather" from the shuttlecoack,...

That's why I hope Lee Zii Jia wins him if they will meet at quarter final

Seeing their current performance, I think it's hard for ASG to beat LZJ, unless the magic of Istora really stuns him.

An unexpected result in men's singles first round saw the underdog Zhao JP silenced Istora spectators to beat home darling Jonatan Christie who had really convincing start in opening game with his aggressive style that supported by effective smashes. Slowly but sure the Chinese ramps up his confidence to show better performance in second game, displaying formidable defense to retrieve Christie offensive shot then the lost focus Indonesian ran out of steam in deciding game.

Meanwhile Anthony Ginting nearly blew away his hefty margin lead at deciding game, 17-5 as the never say die Thai sensation Vitidsarn catching up patiently and almost worked well, smart tactic by former champion to ask medical break in crucial stage, 19-18 to disrupt his opponent momentum.

A pretty much open wide in bottom half draw whether Sen, World Champion Loh KY or Chou TC who can go further in this tournament whilst second seed Antonsen pulled out as his injury hasn't fully recovered yet.

An impact of using three courts only in preliminary rounds as late night matches are inevitable, Istora Senayan isn't spacious stadium like Utilita Arena Birmingham, it'll be too cramped if the organizer forces to set up 4 courts.

Now that the thai pair is gone, i think it might be an all Chinese final in mixed doubles ?

Nope, both pairs occupy same half of draw, they're slated to face off in semifinal.

Hmm, without yuta/arissa, who else is a good possibility then?

It is not the first time that Ginting has used this tactic towards the business end of the final game, when things are not quite going his way. The strategy may be smart, but it does not show him in a particularly good light.

I thought Ginting should have done this more often earlier in his careers.

Not when opponents already clawed back 10 points but lets say 3-5 points. Had he done so, he wouldnt have gotten injured against SYQ in AG Team and a lot of matches. Its within the rules.

Its not worst than someone using delaying tactics during serve which affects opponents concentration during the total match, thats much worst. I have Denmark, Korean and Indian pair did that.

CTC must be super popular with the Indonesian crowds for some reason. Its almost like home advantage for him?

Goes back to his dramatic Indonesian Open win few years back. Was an amazing game, and he's won a lot of hearts over it.

Good win for Tan/Thinaah. It seems to me that their roles in the pair have gradually switched; Thinaah spends far more time at the front court than she used to, to make space for Pearly Tan's harder smash. Thinaah's net play is not as aggressive but it is reasonably solid, so now their attack has become much better than before. Hope they can go far this tournament.

HBJ's attacking style of play is really nice to watch.
Not dominant in playing shuttle placement instead of a net games play and ending with a sharp smash.

Does it seem like Pramudya/Yeremia are trying to serve faster, while Alfian/Ardianto are taking more time?
