but you should.... The Crazyflights are some of the best shoes I've had so far. Court Team Bounce are a great value, .... I also still have the P7.1 and P5.1, but prefer the Crazyflights. I might try the Stabil Next Gen when I need new shoes. Handball and Volleyball shoes are basically the same, Badminton and Volleyball is basically the same. Table Tennis player often prefer Badminton shoes over table tennis shoes. The difference is mostly marketing.

I think in Europe, everything was on one person, they were looking to hire somebody for DACH, but then Covid hit and everything was put on halt.
Like Simon, I do not understand why they quit now. For what I know, even the next Kalkül rackets were basically ready, so it would have been fairly easy to keep going for at least 2 more years at minimal costs.

Like I've said before, I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Babolat and Adidas rackets came out of the same factory. I need to find out if they ever fixed the T(wisty)-Joint issue on the X-Feels.

Sorry I mean specifically as an example of Adidas main site carrying badminton gear.

I was considering the stabil next gen but managed to find a good deal on asics sky elite ff MT shoes, which I'm loving. So it's definitely not what you're thinking. ;)

So, a couple of weeks ago, the inevitable happened on my P8:

Knowing from previous conversations with my guy at Adidas that replacement strips won't be available, I was kind of bummed at first. But then I thought, why not try to make the best out of it and finally give it a go without the strips. So that's what I did and it turned out to be really interesting. Let's have a look at the change in weight first:

    1) with side grommet strips still in place (click to enlarge pics):
    IMG_5225 (Groß).JPG

    2) regular grommets:
    IMG_5226 (Groß).JPG IMG_5228 (Groß).JPG

    3) Li-Ning "Cubic Locking" grommets (I still had some of those around and the color seemed to be perfect!)
    IMG_5229 (Groß).JPG IMG_5231 (Groß).JPG

Meaning that the difference in head weight is only around 0.3 g with both options which is clearly in the range of the usual production tolerances. I decided to go with the "cubic locking" ones, mainly because they fit in so well there. After stringing it, I think I found the reason why Adidas was using those strips in the first place:
    IMG_5242 (Klein).JPG

The holes are drilled fully horizontal and not perpendicular to the frame which means that the grommet heads on the outer holes are not sitting completely flush with the frame. The issue will be the same with regular round grommets, but I guess it will be less noticeable.

But now the big question: How does it play?
The simple answer: Same as before.
Without a direct comparison, I did not even notice those 0.3 g difference. It still hits equally hard, is equally precise and stable on impact... it's just that tiny bit lighter in the head which will inevitable make it that tiny bit faster and easier to move around.

So for everybody who is going to face the same issue, don't be afraid to remove the strips and just go with regular grommets. It will not change anything what you liked about the P8 before.

Cant it be replaced with any other stripe grommet?
Like for example ZF or maybe current 99 pro.

I doubt it. None of them is having the strips in a similar position and/or matching holes.

These (MBS) might be worth a try, but they're meant for the top, around the twelve o'clock position.

I'm not gonna try them though....

My Kalkul A2's and Uberschall F2's are still playing really well!

I used Victor AS90S and BS12 at clubnight tonight for the first time in a long while but when i switched back to A2 & F2 they felt better. I continued to use those for the remainder of the session.

Same here with my Wucht P8. It manages to wow me time and time again. I seriously enjoy it even more after removing the side grommet strips. I have the P6 as backup in the bag, but the extra stiffness of the P8 just adds that bit of snappiness that makes it stand out.

Having a more user friendly racket in the bag doesn't hurt though - the N9II in my case. For the days on which you're just not getting in the zone and your hitting precision is slightly off, we all know what I'm talking about. :)

I was on the lookout for a pair of Uberschall F5 to add to my collection.
Thankfully @Martynas had three he was willing to sell.
I cant wait to try them out tomorrow, it's been a long time since I tried the F5 and my preferences have changed alot since then.

If anyone has any Kalkul A3 they are willing to trade or sell then I may be interested.

This is the first time ever that I’ve owned three pieces of the same racket…
    [IMG]

Third one will be kept and stored as backup for now. So yeah, I really do like that P8 still.

And thanks @Dave1011 for the trade!

And it's just a bloody awesome racket. I started trying other rackets the past couple of months but couldn't find one yet that matches or tops the P8 in terms hitting feel, precision (especially torsion stability in the T-joint) and overall performance.

The P6 was grabbed before I could even try it, it was used for the entire session and kept to try again next time.
    The feedback was really positive
