wonder if there's any badminton training camp in BKK, will be there in late Dec, staying for 10 days.

if not, play group is also good, can exercise while relaxing in BKK

There are some training camps in Bangkok (look up Boonthongyord club). At the club I coach and run a club at there are several full-time Thai coaches which I can put you in touch with. Charges are 650 baht per hour.

If you want to play, I run Badzone which is the biggest international club in Bangkok and in a central location. We do welcome guests. The level of play is good...we have a minimum standard so anyone under intermediate/non competitive have a choice of other clubs on meetup.com.

Badzone runs every Sunday 7pm-9.30pm at 71 Sports Club, Pridi Banomyong 41, Closest BTS is Phra Kanong station.

Last posting is quite old, so i just ask, if there is any updated list from places to play badminton?
i was playing just for a few hours at "urban playground" with friends and would love to play it more seriously the next time when i am in thailand?

right now i am back in Austria. Just asking to be prepared in the future.

My girlfriend lives next to krung thonburi bts station, and it seems thet "Tito court" is near there. any recomendations for this place? or are there better places to play near this area?

See the pinned post. Anek and his Saturn Club are always worth a visit. Very friendly and welcoming to guests on a Saturday night.

What standard do you play at? Tito have several clubs that play there with standard pretty good. My club, Badzone, is near Phra Kanong BTS station with more varied nationalities and a good standard (every Sunday evening) or another option is download the Meetup App and look at Bangkok Badminton and Whatever Badminton groups. They're mixed standards and also play at 71 sports club in Phra Kanong.

You are more than welcome to join me and my uncles at Tito badminton court. I also just got back from the Netherlands to play with them again. We play every Saturday 5pm to 7pm, two courts. Most of us have been playing badminton for 10+ years. After playing, we usually get ourselves a few cold beer with the court’s owner. Let me know if you’re down!

Otherwise, I can also recommend an open badminton group at the same court. I heard they plays a few days a week but I usually see them begins from 7 until very late on Saturday. You can just walk in and tell one of the organizers you want to join. You’ll meet with a lot of people friendly people their as well.

I will be vacationing with my family in Bangkok next month and while my daughter and I are shopping, I was thinking my husband could take our son to play badminton. What badminton courts are closest to the Akara Hotel? My husband doesn't play so he would just be watching. Would it be possible to rent a badminton racquet and would he be able to join in to play singles/doubles with others? He's fifteen and a pretty good badminton player.

You’ve got two main courts in different directions. One is Winner Court and one is 71 Sports Club. Both will take you 20 mins to get to.

At 71 you can telephone them to reserve a court and they do have a shop that rents out rackets and shoes. Or you get look on the Meetup app and sign up to one of the many badminton groups that play there. Best one probably Saturdays 12-3pm called Whatever Badminton.

    Hi Berniste,

You need to download the MeetUp app and search for badminton...many clubs to join that way in both Chiang Mai and more in Bangkok. The main place to play is 71 Sports Club which is quite central. I recommend Saturdays called Whatever Badminton for intermediate level. I coach there and also some Thai coaches - I specialise in beginner to intermediate, and the Thai coaches are more for intermediate to advanced with shot strengthening techniques.

A very good badminton store is online (called Badminter on fb). Quote Badzone for a discount. Other shops to visit and buy in Bangkok is Mr C and Ladprao Badminton. All prices are around the same...cheaper than sports stores such as Supersports.
