Come to Delhi some day or I have to come to mighty Himalayas to play with you haha. It's been years too. My last racquet of 2012 Muscle Power is still there, have to string it though.
Wrote this to my uncles below: Kidambi was the MVP. Have to give it to the man. He was in a rough phase from 2018-21. Doesn't matter if you're a hardcore Indian fan or not, you just won't be able to see his matches of that phase. Hence his drop from WR1 to WR 20 was a free fall. You don't understand it unless you've seen it. The guy won WC silver in Dec 2021. And I tell you something has changed in him after that win. He may not be 100 percent Srikanth. But he has surely become 50-60 percent of prime Srikanth with errors (2018-21). Lakshya my man. What a player. Lakshya is in the category of those iron players who have a fighting spirit in DNA like Sindhu, Saina, Neeraj, Sushil, Vijender. Look for him in near future. You'd understand what I was talking about. Lakshya first time playing as MS1 in first time final of Thomas Cup. The occasion. Add to that thunderous Indonesian support. It feels like a movie, right ? The guy did it, handled his nerves much better. This is the third time he has fought back and won against Viktor in German open, Lee zi Jia in AE semis and today against Ginting. Viktor WR1, LZJ WR 7 I think and Ginting is WR 5. Lakshya is young, relatively inexperienced and WR 9. Give him some time and you'll see more of him.
I will definitely inform you the next time I got to come to Delhi. It's work from home so I don't visit often.
India are Thomas Cup Champions 2022! Just ecstatic and basking in the glory of India winning the most prestigious team tournament!
