The method described above was what i did to my Toyos. I just loosened the adjustment knob to create a big enuf gap for the stone to fit. i rubbed the stone against the teeth and then dipped a q-tip in isopropyl alcohol to clean the teeth afterwards. I had to clean them when i noticed the Gosen G-tone 5 were slipping on my clamps, only on the start when i pull mains. It seems that for all thin strings we need to be carefully monitor and adjust our clamps accordingly... This probably has to do with the outer jacket coating of each string too.
What about cleaning flying clamps ? Is it the same ? I'm quite sure they are not diamond coated. I have slipping problems with my Yonex clamp and not with the Pros'pro copy of it ! Should I use acetone for cleaning? PS : the plastic of the yonex clamp has broken too ...
