Just wondering how many of you are good at doing the serve seen in the first few seconds of this video which includes sidespin, and if so how long it took to get this good. Thomas Laybourn told me that it's tricky to learn, and that even he sometimes does it wrong. I came early to badminton yesterday to start practicing it. I had briefly tried it once during a coaching session, and after watching the video the coach couldn't figure out how to do it. I did improve some, and might have more if I had remembered to bring my tripod. I didn't try it much in games, but there was one good one which spun a lot and wasn't returned.
