I try not to get too deep into your debate.
let's focus on discussing the match ...

and about SHR, as I said before, he doesn't have the consistency and mentality to win, yesterday he was so brilliant to finish off LS but today he is helpless in the hands of unknown players

it was a bit difficult to see how Vitidsarn can not do anything from the back if JC puts shuttle far enough, once Jojo realized that I think he really started to see the light at the tunnel, but nice match and kudos for JC for that comeback in the second set, very good fighting spirit and composure.

His strong point is lethal smash and fast attacking game and he will turn 23 years next couple of months. Time will tell how his development further.

These Koreans are not so weak, they are playing proper korean style MD, if they can improve that granny like smash then they can do well, esp 19 Years old Yong Jin.

I mean overall INA MD squad not to mention Fikri/Maulana alone. Korean is traditionally strong in MD category, starting from their legendary pair Park JB/Kim MS so not too surprised they could spring one or two upsets.

Hot favorite Christie sets up a noteworthy semifinal clash with Srikanth, the Indonesian beat THA prodigy Vitidsarn in marathon match that requires full patience and superb fitness level to construct many tenacious rallies until one of players intercepted with either drop or smash. Vitidsarn looked tired in middle of third game as his inaccuracy emerged frequently. In the battle of fledgling players, the left-hander Weng HY outclasses Ng TY, his fast attacking game is working well so far and perhaps he might continue excellent run to grab golden ticket against another surprising package, Svendsen who powered past Rhustavito, inconsistency problem still disrupting 28 years old Indonesian badminton career.

Sindhu-An, two most familiar faces in BWF top tier circuit lately, the Indian did her routine to beat Busanan while An outplays Kawakami, unfavorable stats for the Indian as she never won in three previous encounters, all in two straight-games, just hope it'll be more enticing this time, former world champion should be alert for An fantastic retrieving skill and steady play. On other semifinal, Chen YF conqueror will face THA second ranked Chochuwong who vanquished more fancied Intanon.

Looks like China experiment in mixed doubles doesn't send good signal, Ou/Huang are miles away from expectation, especially the tall man who can do nothing except did many mistakes, Huang worked hard to cover her blunder partner. Zheng Siwei will be reunited with Huang Yaqiong in THA Open next month.

I never got why Zheng SW and HYQ was split up anyway. Why try to prep them with other partners for Paris 2024? They are both still pretty young and can challenge for gold together. Anyone have any insights?

Apart from being consistent in the top rankings, lately zsw/hyq have also started losing more often to other pairs ( jordan/oktavianti, sapsiree/dechapol and their comrades hdp/wyl).
IMHO, maybe China wants to try the potential of a new stronger pairs, just like in the past when they separated cqc/zsw to give birth to a new monster zsw/hyq.

I have same question goes Korea Badminton, why they split choi/seo, even though their performance can still compete with current top 10 MD

I doubt it; she is not on the national coaching team. It will have been Imabeppu Kaori.

its still a huge gamble cos if it doesn’t work out and it looks like its not right now, even if they get paired up again, they haven’t trained together in forever which will impact their performance.

Im also curious about the korean pair. Spitting them up means they hav no top pair anymore and both are still young and will be around for Paris. I guess there is a reason im not a coach lol
