It's amazing to see that in 3 months, 4 Indian girls have clinched titles - Unnati Hooda, Tasnim Mir, Aditi Bhatt, Anupama Upadhyaya.

Anybody have the list of players who are supported by BAI for the Tournaments. I mean some players are playing without a Coach ( Individual players), some players are using resources of BAI. Such as Sia Dutt usually sits with Priyanshu Rajawat, does that mean Rajawat is National level Player or Sia Dutt is guiding him just because he is from Gopichand Academy. In the latter case, Since SiaDutt is National coach, he should not guide Gopichand Academy players (Conflict of Interest).

Thanks. But I have seen Satishkumar Karunakaran ( without coach) playing whereas priyanshu with a coach. If both of them are in the list, they should be treated the same way. Usually, sia dutt( national coach) sits in the coach chair for Rajawat. I know that Priyanshu is from Gopichand's academy. Hence this partiality arises. Am speechless

I just watched a match where a Belgian player was playing Priyanshu. Kudos to Belgian player, he is very solid. Rajawat does not even have a basic defense. No net game and dont even try to construct a rally. Wow.

I think the most exciting prospect among upcoming players who has the potential to be among top 15-20 is Ishaan/Tanisha. Next 2 years will be crucial and will give us more indication whether they'll be able to achieve that or not.

In MS after Lakshya, I don't see any player who has done something as of now to put him in future top 15-20. But, I think we have to see how Meiraba fares in next 2-3 years. After him maybe Kiran George.

In WS, I had expectations from Samiya. Till now I haven't seen her much in senior level. Next would be Tasnim Mir, an exciting prospect.

In MD, no one. I don't see Dhruv/Arjun in top 15 in next 3 years. Manjit/Dingku no. Vishnu Panjala , have to keep a tab on him.

In WD, I liked Aditi/Tanisha but Aditi shifted to singles. Tanisha/Rituparna also broke up. Tressa is a nice player, very exciting to watch. We have a scope of improvement in this category.

All in all, our golden generation in MS (Srikanth, HSP, BSP, Sameer, maybe Kashyap or should we put him in the earlier generation?) was there if we compare it to days of Chetan Anand, Anand Pawar, Arvind Bhatt. Now only Lakshya is there. Others need to step up. We'll see in next 3 years if we have another "golden generation of MS" or not.

I think in future, India is going to have quite a strong team in women's singles:-

Players whom I think can reach the top-most level:-

    1. Anupama Upadhyaya
    2. Tasnim Mir
    3. Unnati Hooda

Besides this, players like Aditi, Ashmita, Samayara, Malvika, Aakarshi, Samiya, Tanya, Tara etc. can also reach top 50.

Looking forward to the future of WS in India. I think if the federation really puts in efforts and provides good coach and training and facilities that some might not get, WS can be India's strongest discipline.

This was last year's list. BAI will need to update the names sometime in 2022. In the interim Anupama is supported by PPBA for international tournaments.Unnati will get support from Haryana BAI for tournaments.

I hope so. These two, along with Tasnim, are the brightest prospects in singles right now.

Kiran and Meiraba both lost today. Just checked Kiran is now 22. Meiraba will turn 20 this year, his record this year has been unimpressive losing to Finnish, Sri Lankan and unknown Indian player.

Meiraba was leading 11-4 in the decider thats when Chan did cramp-break thing which broke Meiraba's rhythm. Chan showed no signs of cramps then and went on to win 21-19

Do you guys think Kiran or Priyanshu or Meiraba would be able to reach the top? And what about Ashmita, Aakarshi and Malvika?

Out of these, I only have hopes from Meiraba.

Meiraba played incredibly well until he got a blood injury. He was leading 14-6 in the decider and the opponent already gave up. Blood spilled all over the court which umpire called refree to clean it up. It happened 2 times. And the gap of 5 minutes really broke the rhythm and unbelievably the opponent came back considering Meiraba's injury.
Similarly I watched Kiran's match. He could not even move in the second game. Might be accumulation of tiredness. It is understood.
