Last year, I sensed KV was making considerable leaps. But now I think LS is the strongest among the names you've mentioned.

In the upper half of the draw it is Axelsen and the IND trio, Srikanth, Sen and Prannoy

This year I hope India selects its best team for Thomas cup, Srikanth, Sen and Prannoy plus the doubles players Chirag/Rankireddy and the MD 2 Dhruv/Kapila

I think that's probably true for these singles loopsided losses , especially if they feel as though they are not 100% fit. I will be very suprised if we see TTY, KM, or AY lose in 30/40 min two straight-sets single digits games next week at the all England.

I have some respect for LZJ and Viktor Axelsen for still trying then,I read somewhere they are the only MS top 10 players still left in the German Open. LZJ is the reigning AE champion as well so there is more pressure on him to defend his title. And he was playing in BATC just recently, which most of the other players didn't even attend, so he should be the most tired out of all of them.

Tournament second round describes day of upset and the competition intensifying...

Two of new kid on the block members begin to spread threat for the established player lately, this time victim are INA Thomas Cup heroes. Thai prodigy Kunlavut "View" Vitidsarn outlasted Jonatan "Jojo" Christie, the more patient and accurate View nailed quarters ticket. Jojo contributed his best to narrow deficit in the opener, almost isn't enough as he didn't find correct shot to end first set. A degraded form took effect in next game, Vitidsarn played comfortably to dictate and amplified pressure to his senior rival.

Worst and inconceivable result revealed subsequently, Anthony Ginting tasted humiliating score, helplessly facing IND next big thing Lakshya Sen, obviously the Indonesia has inadequate intensive training, only demonstrating persistent errors, either mishit the shuttlecock into the net or pushed it wide. Top contender Axelsen hasn't meet suitable opponent yet, perhaps Srikanth could produce decent fight for Danish renowned player, MAS protagonist Lee ZJ who turning into independent player will be challenged by China last man standing in this category Zhao Junpeng.

Tai Tzu Ying did training exhibition yesterday, sparring with Sayaka Takahashi, really a grotesque showcase by Taiwanese ace. The signature wizardry touch was totally missing, her majority point coming from the Japanese unforced errors, practically she only retrieved shuttlecock as long as she can. Don't know whether she only treated GER Open as warming up event before heading to bigger one All England to explain her questionable form.

He BJ was posessed by her strong inner belief to exploit hidden talent that integrated with precise tactic to outmaneuver World Champion, rarely to witness Akane was off position frequently. The less error, relentless attacking shots, proper anticipation were among the key factors to win which usually absent from the Chinese left-hander routine. Zhang Yiman has developed leaps and bounds in almost all aspects how she handled Pusarla Sindhu who implementing opposite form when she beat Busanan earlier. The careless and sluggish Sindhu became easy target for the Chinese who relying on cross-court smash or drops to score point effectively that preceded by tight spinning net shot.

It seems China revamped pairs working well so far, several of them stun more favoured combination, He JT/Zhou HD learnt last defeat against Indonesian third-ranked Alfian/Ardianto, Zhang SX/Zheng Yu puzzled KOR vast experienced Lee SH/Shin SC and the most stunning result that causing to raise eyebrow shows Ou XY/Huang YQ vanquish the Olympic Champions Wang YL/Huang DP in two quick games.

    QUARTERFINAL MATCH HIGHLIGHTS
    - Viktor Axelsen (DEN) v Kidambi Srikanth (IND)
    - Lee Zii Jia (MAS) v Zhao Junpeng (CHN)
    - Michelle Li (CAN) v An Se Young (KOR)
    - Ratchanok Intanon (THA) v He Bingjiao (CHN)
    - Hoki/Kobayashi (JPN) v Astrup/Rasmussen (DEN)
    - Stoeva/Stoeva (BUL) v Kim SY/Kong HY (KOR)
    - Ellis/Smith (ENG) v Rivaldy/Mentari (INA)
    - Gicquel/Delrue (FRA) v Ou XY/Huang YQ (CHN)

    Not many comments here.

I was happy that I cannot sleep until 6 am.

For a long time to see Nishimoto can in 2 consecutive matches.

I know Kunlavut was a strong and young opponent but I believe Nishimoto will surpass Kunlavut.

I think that just king Lee Zii Jia, Lakshya Sen and Viktor can stop Nishimoto now. And 3 of them were still on the table list. ^-^

Waiting for king Lee Zii Jia vs civilian Nishimoto at semi-final.

I loved the way you talk about 'The king' Lee Zii Jia sarcastically. He is good yesterday. Though, I felt like like he relies heavily on his power. Lee Chong wei's precision and speed is still not there.

Any idea where we can watch the matches in India. I heard that the TV rights are bought by Viacom and the matches can be seen on Voot Select. Can anyone confirm?

Oh my god! I can't belive it but I just checked and Voot has German Open. It says it is an upcoming live stream. Does VOOT have a channel to broadcast? I would have liked if Sony had bought badminton right. A lot of people have Sony LIV nowadays but not VOOT. It might not be accessible to many fans.

I hope if VOOT is the permanent partner, they market badminton well and also have all courts all rounds or at least courts 1 and 2. (Though I don't think this is the case.)
