It’s cruel and unfair. Expected, BAM wants to make an example out of LZJ and GJW to deter other BAM players from leaving while simultaneously ‘luring’ to get them back. Apparently BAM is letting LZJ to appeal the decision but let’s be real. BAM only wants what they want. Will BWF do something? Or is this yet another harmful situation that BWF seemingly doesn’t care? What a waste of several years of his prime if it’ll happen. Pandemic already wasted 1-2 years prime age of so many players.
Also a case of “if you leave, there are certain advantages and disadvantages “ Thus, a player has to think very carefully and also play the politics very carefully to keep on being on good terms. Don’t know if it is a factor but the players need to know their contract very well as there may be clauses which the player forgot about or didn’t realise the implications of.
Bwf has to do something about independent players. I bet if Anton Anderson was ahead of viktor, Danish team would do something similar. It's just he's too good to **** over right now. Maybe viktor has some dubai connections to help lolll Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
He signed the contract and if it says he will be barred for 2 years then he should have seen it coming. The only problem now is they have arrived at a lose-lose situation where it benefits neither of the parties. A more logical way to resolve this should be for LZJ to pay a sum that is large enough to warn other players from leaving, a sum that BAM thinks is enough to cover all the expenses spent on him throughout the years. This way BAM can recoup their losses (or make a profit), reinvest the money into grooming talents and still have LZJ representing the country in his prime years.
bwf is trying to sound like they aren't the bad guy here. do not be fooled. their jurisdiction rule should not exist in the first place. when will a competent journalist ask bwf to justify the rule?
So now what options are available for him? Crawl back to BAM? Go to TW, SG, or Vietnam, etc? l Sent from my SM-G988W using Tapatalk
Right now, you don't need another country to lure you. You can get fasttrack citizenship in some countries that needs investment. Some will give you citizenship if you invest in their real estate like in South America so if he just wants to play and earn, giving up citizenship for another is the faster way. Of course if you don't want to leave your family and hometown that is a different consideration
how many badminton players can afford to do that? which one of these countries has a badminton system, and how much more would it cost you to exist in it? https://www.goldenvisas.com/country...bgux2OMRgACtVhuWq_xA1fEMHbluuIJhoCoLEQAvD_BwE
I told them to set international badminton players association long ago to counter bwf and those associations.. read below... As a former Malaysian tennis player in 1973 I remember this particular international tennis incident which changed the face of international tennis forever..... Nikola "Niki" Pilić was the catalyst to the 1973 Wimbledon boycott. In May 1973, the Yugoslav tennis federation alleged that Pilić had refused to represent them in a Davis Cup tie against New Zealand earlier that month. Pilić denied the charge, but was suspended by the federation, and the suspension was upheld by the ILTF, INTERNATIONAL LAWN TENNIS FEDERATION, albeit decreased from nine months to one month, meaning that he could not enter the Wimbledon Championships. In protest at the suspension, 81 of Pilić's fellow professionals, organized into the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP), and including 13 of the 16 seeds, withdrew from the 1973 Wimbledon Championships. After that the ATP became a very powerful organisation and today the growth of international tennis is due to ATP. The insane powers of the National Tennis Federations which hindered the growth of professional tennis before 1973 was completely wiped out. Kuldip Singh son of Durbara.
the situations aren't exactly the same. the was no federation claiming to govern all entry rules, like bwf does over badminton. that was a deal cut between yugo & iltf. that could never happen in badminton today because every top player is owned by a power federation and cannot decide when to play or when not to play. 'you wanna boycott? if you don't play we won't enter you in any more tournaments. say good bye to your career.'
It's a semi self-sustaining model where they get sponsorships to keep the association running, although they do also get some form of assistance from government, which is why LZJ leaving without consequences is a big threat to the association's existence. Anyway, the decision is not final as BAM said that they will welcome him back if he changes his mind. A journalist also asked if they could resolve this financially but the management answered that they haven't gotten to that stage. I believe they will reach amicable terms (financially) where both parties get what they want.
Time for change for all players in every country to have their own player association except China. Even AA said it. Only solution. Takes time. Ask ATP for advice. Who is the president of ATP?? https://fb.watch/aH2s_wrfvo/
Not just ATP (vs ITF). Golf too. IGF vs PGA. Professional players in tennis and golf form their own associations. Nothing is impossible. Dun be negative with Malaysia tak holeh attitude
Long ago.... i said. https://www.badzine.net/2016/06/members-only-when-badminton-players-choose-independence/
