LPJ's defence is not as good as Boje's, and TKM's attack is not as good as Christiansen's hence the defeat.
I have seen them performing draws few years before. Not necessary for Group X winner to meet Group Y runner up. If so, it is pretty obvious for players to manipulate the result.
You may have misunderstood what I meant.. There is a draw, yes. But I am not talking about what may happen. I am talking about what is certain to happen (or not happen). It is certain that group X runner up cannot meet group Y runner up. So if you (LZJ) know the results of the other group, you can reduce the probability of drawing the runner up from the other group from 50% to 0%.. by losing the final group match. (In OG2012, that was exactly their agenda. But back then the reduction was from 100% to 0% because there was no draw after group play.)
Exactly ! The playing style of the "Minions" is the highest level of arrogance. I don't think they can get more sponsors for badminton in this way.
I believe its to save energy for tomorrow's SF. They top the group anyway after taking the first set and now only going through the motion. They will treat it as a practice match also.
Ok , you're right. But it still is bad sportmanship. Due to the Coed of Conduct you have to give the "best" you can in every game. So million of peoples (sponsors) watch this silly game ...
If you look at the rally to 14-8 in the 2nd game ALL four players should get a yellow card from the umpire .
Not their fault. If Den wants to win, then they need to attack more or go all out attack. Nothing wrong if Minions want to save energy, even though seeing how this match, I think it will tire them more for SF If people wants slow that their attacks dont work, this is what they ll get.
As much as I agree, is hard to give your best when nothing is at stake. Even if you try to, you will unconsciously be lazier. It is the problem of the group stage competition. You see it in football too.. When a team qualify, they will play the reserves
Precisely! There's nothing there to fault both sets of players. One is taking it as a practice, one is trying their best to win.
