Yeah its quite expected. They ll lose hard and win easy. Not that its super easy but its way easier than the way they lost, then you will have no regrets.
The top 8 competing next week in MD is now decided: Lee Yang/Wang Chi Lin (Olympic Champions) Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo 49,500 Takuro Hoki/Yugo Kobayashi 42,250 Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen 42,100 Ong Yew Sin/Teo Ee Yi 37,820 Toma Junior Popov/Christo Popov 32,480 Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan 31,820 - what an achievement by this young pair to participate next week as INA's MD2! Look forward to more of their success! and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty 31,610 The Minions can take it easy or still push forward for another Final appearance? I expect at least SF though, with a favorable draw. Let's see....
Loh Kean Yew is performing better in the second-set as he takes a 11-3 lead. It looks like a rubber-set if he can maintain the momentum.
Rubber-set it is and LKY is so full of confidence! Let's see what Viktor can do to counter his sparring partner in Dubai.
Regardless of the outcome, for Loh Kean Yew to push Viktor to 3-sets and winning the second-set so easily is already an achievement that very few can be proud of this year! It will be unthinkable for him to win...but well, who knows?
What is wrong with LKY's backhand, though. Always missing these easy drives towards his backhand. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Congratulations Viktor Axelsen for yet another Super 1000 title in the SimInvest Indonesia Open 2021. This, added to his back-to-back victories at the two Thailand Opens, Swiss Open , Tokyo Olympics, and Denmark Open, means that 2020 is his most successful year with 6 titles (1 Olympic Gold Medal, 4 Super 1000, 1 Super 300) so far (2 more tourneys to go!) Amazing performance!
At 27 years old only, Viktor Axelsen is rightly in the prime of his career now and he has already won the following major team and individual titles: Thomas Cup (2016 and Bronze in 2012, 2018, and 2020) European Men's Team Championships (2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020) European Mixed Team Championships (2015, 2017, 2019, 2021) Olympics (2020, Bronze in 2016) World Championships (2017, Bronze in 2014) World Junior Championships (2010, Silver in 2011) European Junior Championships (2011) Superseries & World Tour TITLES (15): Swiss Open 2014, 2021 (Super 300) Dubai World Superseries Finals (2016, 2017) India Open 2017, 2019 (Super 500) Japan Open 2017 (Super 750 now) Malaysia Masters 2018 (Super 500) Spain Masters 2019, 2020 (Super 300) All-England Open 2020 (Super 1000) Thailand Opens I and II 2020 (Super 1000) Denmark Open 2021 (Super 1000) Indonesia Open 2021 (Super 1000) International Challenge/Series TITLES (4): Cyprus International 2010 Spanish Open 2011 Dutch International 2013 Denmark International 2013
hmmm okay... if my semi-joke is deemed offensive then i apologize jeez...everything is feminism and sexism nowadays......why don't bwf hold ms vs ws tournament then jeez mod as usual delete my posts if many users complain
What a waste by Intanon who made incredible comeback to grab 7 consecutive points to force deuce but her next uncharacteristic mistakes has contributed ASY triumph here to win back to back title. The KOR retrieving skill really on point today against the error-proned former champion. Intanon late surge in both opening and second game became futile at the end despite the Thai gifted star has better technical skill than her younger final rival, consistency and shots accuracy always posing big problem for this skillful player. A typical marathon WD match, trading lob by lob until one of finalists committed mistake, witnessing the longest rally that contains 192 shots that happened at 17-17 in first set, it’s too bad the Olympic Champions couldn’t keep their good lead 15-9 in second game. Matsuyama/Shida WR will up two rungs into #7 after scoop huge point here. Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai play near flawless badminton, implementing aggressive mode right from the start to bombard the off color Watanabe/Higashino who defeated the Thai prominent duo in all four previous meetings. Rarely to see Tokyo OG bronze medalists have accuracy problem, below par their normal standard. Next, both pairs will vying World Championships when the Chinese pair make return. A hat-trick for The Minions as home faves defend title to avenge last week disappointment over Hoki/Kobayashi. The Indonesians on their element to play fast paced game rather than mobilize tough effort in long rallies that more favours to the Japanese duo. Looking good prospect for Gideon/Sukamuljo who regain confidence back and moving forward into right direction. Another S1000 victory for Viktor Axelsen after DEN Open in 2021 season, both players have good offensive shot and great defense as well but the Olympic Champ shows his class to take control over the agile Singaporean rival who has incredible improvement since last month tours. Loh KY exhibits excellent performance in second game, really pro-active and took iniatiative first to frustrate the tall Dane but his inconsistency arrived again in final game, a learning and valuable experience against one of current best MS players. His WR will jump into top 20 next week and hopefully will continue to rise to make MS competition more and more competitive to follow. Kunlavut Vitidsarn will qualify for next week World Tour Finals and Loh should shift focus to major event in Huelva.
He worked hard for it. And badminton is not a rich sport. The prize money is so little. Sometimes I wonder how they survive.
Some people are getting way too touchy about these petty things. World these days. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
I don't know how calling a female player "half woman" because of her physical appearance is not offensive. IMHO judging a professional player on his/her physical appearance seems to be in bad taste. But I guess I'm just too touchy about these petty things...
