No, Momota can reach 8th position, because Viktor will take a ticket from Gemke/Antonsen

Lol. You must be kidding me. What about Kunlavut? Momota is in 6th position. Rasmus /Antonsen will occupy 7th or whatever position.
If Loh wins it, he will occupy 8th position. That's all. If he did not win it, Kunlavut will go. Only
    Kunlavut's position is in danger.

    Momota is safely qualified.

This is what people usually call toxic sports fans. You win some, you lose some lol. Just let it go and give other players the credit they deserve too.

As for back to back wins, Kento has actually only managed to do it twice in 2019: once in March with German Open and All England. However, German Open was debatably pretty easy as he played Nishimoto in the final and we all know how often Nishimoto even makes it that far in a tournament; the 2nd time was in September when he was starting to peak and was able to dominate most of his opponents.

So if you were to ask me, it is still pretty unrealistic to expect Kento to win back to back again as if it's nothing. Even if he was at his very best right now, it still wouldn't be a walk in the park for him regardless.

i think KM fitness level is quite worrying and may not come back to his best anymore. he barely smashed against LKY and yet he looks so tired towards the end. he didn’t up the pace too. in 2019, he can won back to back tournament easily without showing such fatigue. against much higher rank player in between. wonder what went wrong.

The performances dished out by Praveen Jordan/Melati Daeva Oktavianto were terrible in the last 2 home tourneys (W12 L6), after a decent European stint:
Indonesia Open 2021 - R16 lost to Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje (that too because their opponents in R32 retired after the first pt, W1 L1)
    Indonesia Masters 2021 - R32 lost to Dhruv Kapila/Reddy N Sikki (W0 L1)
    Hylo Open 2021 - Final lost to Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (W4 L1)
French Open 2021 - QF lost to Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet (W2 L1)
    Denmark Open 2021 - SF lost to Dechapol Puvaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (W3 L1)
Sudirman Cup 2021 - QF lost to Hoo Pang Ron/Cheah Yee See (W2 L1)

Compared to their compatriots, Hafiz Faisal/Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja (W6 L3 so far). I think they may be split soon as they declined the invitation to the World Championships in Huelva next month):
    Indonesia Open 2021 - QF facing Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje today (W2 L0)
    Indonesia Masters 2021 - QF lost to Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (W2 L1)
    Hylo Open 2021 - QF lost to Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (W2 L1)
    Denmark Open 2021 - R32 lost to Tan Kian Meng/Lai Pei Jing (W0 L1)

And Rinov Rivaldy/Pitha Haningtyas Mentari still cannot beat the top 16 pairs regularly, despite being ranked at WR20 already (W5 L5):
    Indonesia Open 2021 - R32 lost to Mathias Christiansen/Alexandra Boje (W0 L1)
    Indonesia Masters 2021 - R2 lost to Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet (W0 L1)
    Hylo Open 2021 - SF lost to Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai (W3 L1)
    French Open 2021 - R32 lost to Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (W0 L1)
    Denmark Open 2021 - R16 lost to Yuta Watanabe/Arisa Higashino (W1 L1)
    Sudirman Cup 2021 - beat B.R. Sankeerth/Crystal Lai (W1 L0)

INA's XD is a mess and they better do some internal review before next year's tourneys.

    Yes i'm pretty toxic

Ok so here it is - winning back to back is one thing which is awesome. That's the first level.

The second level is you have performing and reaching to the second to last or last matches in back to back tournaments. Are there more of that?

The third level is performing at a high level for not 1 or 2 or 3 but several tournaments during a year.

So I get your point he won back to back only twice but he did play several closely held tournaments without dropping dead on the floor.

Yeah I give full credit to Loh. Not taking anything from him. He gave Momota a hard time and Momota couldn't do anything about it.

    @r1cky_b3cks

Exactly my point and then in these situation you would find him increasing his pace in the 3rd game which would make the other players despair.

Maybe I should cut him more slack but time is running :(

But what he did is alread extraordinary considering the sheer amount of adversity he faced.

    @dood1234

My favourite player is Chiharu Shida :oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops::oops:

More interesting fashion in MS landscape...The big headline goes to Loh Kean Yew who outlasted Kento Momota yesterday, the faster Loh applied aggressive style with explosive shot that troubling Japanese most times. Actually, it seemed bleak prospect for two-time World Champion after losing opening game 7-21 and trailed behind 2-9 but what badminton fans witnessing that Momota never gave up to tiredness, to dig deep, slower the tempo and tuned his own rhythm and almost succeeded until mid final game, 14-9 then Loh made late comeback to inject the pace just in time and leaving top-seed in disappointment. Two Taiwanese players succumb in endurance battle, defending champion Chou TC ran out of steam against Nishimoto while Wang TW couldn't pass 3rd seed Anders Antonsen.

Denmark dominates MS last eight, no one seeded players left in top-half draw, today's big match will confront home favourite versus reigning European Champion, just wondering Antonsen stamina after played marathon matches in last two rounds.

MS Road To Bali ranking :
    1) Viktor Axelsen (DEN) ~ 42,780* until quarterfinal
    2) Lee Zii Jia (MAS) - 39,620
    3) Kidambi Srikanth (IND) - 37,310
    4) Toma Junior Popov (FRA) - 33,750
    5) Lakshya Sen (IND) - 32,860
    6) Kento Momota (JPN) - 32,600
    7) Rasmus Gemke (DEN) ~ 32,560*
    8) Kunlavut Vitidsarn (THA) - 32,550
    9) Anders Antonsen (DEN) ~ 31,810*
    10) Chou Tien Chen (TPE) - 30,670

Anders Antonsen concedes walkover so Axelsen & Gemke will go to the Finals.
No surprise for walkover considering AA stamina has been drained a lot...
