I was scared that Sameer was again going to lose after getting to match point. Finally a good win for the Indian MS department...

Sameer was Tsuneyama in version India.

"nuclear power" make him run all corners on court without being tired

the players can feel the speed of the shuttle during their 2 minute on-court warm up. if they do not say anything to the umpire/referee prior to the start of the match it is their own fault.

...was so much better. how many athletes have ever re-peaked after falling far? sk will never be a top 5 player again. i doubt he will crack the top 10 again. look at the current rankings and think about who in the top 10 he will be able to beat consistently in the near future.

as much as i like sk i just don't see it happening.

Sameer was literally limping towards the end of the match. Not sure how he was able to pull it. Last point i think antonsen broke his strings and hit the easy smash into the net, so seemed frustrated. Hope sameer is match fit for the next match. I dont think sameer could have lasted had it went to game 3. Good win.

Two MS most anticipated matches as expected happen in last eight, the resurgent Jonatan Christie and Lee Zii Jia trying to upset the high calibre opponent today. Srikanth unables to capitalise good momentum in opening game when the accuracy is gone by the shaky Kento Momota. The Japanese defense seemed vulnerable how he handle former world number one smashes. Axelsen tames Indian young prospect Lakshya Sen comfortably and complicated test awaits in his campaign to eye the elusive DEN Open title. The underdogs Sameer Verma who subdued defending champion Antonsen last night and Tommy Sugiarto among the regular faces of S1000 quarterfinalists, one of these players will maximize rare opportunity to scoop huge points by progressing in semifinal.

WS big match between Sindhu and An SY most likely will determine their fate in final as first quarter of top-half draw looks patchy and doesn't represent real strength of top flight tour following Chen Yufei withdrawal. China has assured a place in final four, projecting close clash of He Bingjiao-Wang Zhiyi as happened in their domestic events. Hot favourite Akane Yamaguchi will face challenging task to advance.

    upload_2021-10-22_9-26-44.png

Really competitive category, only two seeded pairs survived in quarters, the huge upset created by 2019 World Championships silver medalists Hoki/Kobayashi to conquer the Olympic Champions Lee Y/Wang CL. The Japanese implementing right strategy to play more flat shots rather than lift the shuttlecocks too much that favour to TPE duo. Earlier on court 2, the Minions lost narrowly to younger teammates Fikri/Maulana in three games.

It's quite unusual landscape as no Japanese women's doubles in this round following most of their core players suffering injury, China scratch combination looking good so far and will have high profile combinations to confront, interesting to wait whether they could continue good run in their first ever BWF tour.

    upload_2021-10-22_9-40-19.png

Who can deny mixed doubles semis going into the script? Top-seed Wang/Huang almost losing their opening plot against French promising stars Gicquel/Delrue yesterday, the experience speak volumes in crucial stages. China doubles category reshuffle will find tough road ahead following the availability of international tournament is still very limited and their consistent absence.

Yup, because BWF still using 2019 tournaments for WR point calculation and the negative side China is struggling for MS regeneration.

Do we know already which matches are going to be broadcasted on BWF Youtube? They still haven't updated it. Momota should be playing in about 2 hours right?
