Lmao. Lee Zii Jia lives rent-free in the head of Momoto fans. A single lose in a week disturbs the calm of the fanboys that badly? I'm not disappointed at clownish some people can be.
In an update from the NBA, Okuhara has been removed from the Uber Cup delegation. Accordingly, Japan's prospects of retaining the Cup are looking increasingly slim: WS: Yamaguchi, Takahashi S., Ohori, Takahashi A. WD: Shida/Matsuyama (?; Shida was injured at the Sudirman Cup); ?? (there is no other established pair) Only Yamaguchi has had any real exposure to competition as of late; this is going to be a painful tournament.
On the bright side, Fukushima's around! I feel she would match up better with Matsutomo (or anyone else for that matter).
I'd prefer Yuki/Misaki for WD1 and Mayu/whoever for WD2 Misaki/Yuki would be fun to watch, both have solid yet creative defense, plus the agile plays at the net and high consistency in shotmaking. Hopefully there's a chance for this to happen.
Ohhh Fukushima and Matsutomo :O @kurako On the bright side - all countries only have 1 ace WS tbh. With the exception of China and Japan. Do we know the timing of the matches? I need to plan my leaves accordingly.
True! But aren't you forgetting WD?! Well, at least, I suppose, there will be an element of surprise. Here's the link of the schedule: TUC 2020 - Draft Schedule of Play V10- 4 October 2021.pdf
Are you forgetting that Sayaka Takahashi had exposure in the Sudirman Cup, crushing her opponent 21-4 21-2. Sayaka Takahashi has a lot of experience and I think she will play a valuable role in this Uber Cup campain for Japan (and I hope I get to see her live at the French Open)
And are you forgetting the level of her opponent on that occasion? I don't think it really counts as exposure. That happened to be the first and only game on the international circuit that Takahashi has played since the 2020 AE. Even on the domestic level, she lost in R2 of the 2020 All Japan Championships, the only tournament in which she participated in Japan. Takahashi has been injured of late, which goes some way to explaining her recent non-attendance/poor performance, but all-in-all, there are grounds for concern. I, too, like her aggressive style of play, but unless she picks up really quickly, and performs well at the 2021 All Japan Championships later this year, I envisage a retirement.
This is how legendary players sign their name in legendary house. Please! can little Lee sign in his name ?

Who is the 2nd female commentator next to Gronya Somerville here? EDIT: Can answer the question myself. It's Mousumi Dutt. Never heard of her. Seems to have an Indian accent Where is she commentating usually?
