SYQ vs VA will be an awesome match. It will be interesting what is SYQ's game plan on how to get points from VA.

nice to see players hugging after the match, korean pair congratulating ina after losing speaks alot about their character.
Watching someone win semi in olympics never gets old.

    LOL, same here ...
But then when Hirota appears with that knee brace ...
I know things aren't going to be easy for JPN ...
Matsu/naga is the stronger pair with better game plan IMO but they're damn inconsistent.

Lol I know how to wrap sponges correctly, but sometimes I saw my customer's racket with their sponges coming out at the bottom. I know an Olympian knows better but I'm saying it just in case.

I don't have to give him anything... he's the world #1 and an olympic athlete... he has to take it if he wants it.

And just to set all the armchair apologists straight with the excuses...

As spoken by the man himself in his post match interview with BWF:

The question of how much his car accident last year had affected his form hung in the air, but Momota himself declined to attribute his loss to the accident. "I don’t think the accident affected me,” said Momota.

" I was trying to be aggressive, but I couldn’t stay strong emotionally."

    "My physical condition was fine."

    So there you have it.
    eMo choked.
    Get over it fanboys...

I like both players so I wouldn't mind either of them - so long as they beat Cordon in the next round. Slight more wanting Shi Yuqi to win though :)

doesn't matter who abo pair face in the final.....they'll most probably be making it their last match together as a pair anyway since whatever the result polii would retire anyway

Dont think she will retire right away like FHF/ZN. I think she will play 2 more years. I think the kind of perfect retirement is like Ahmad/Natsir playing for 2+ more years, had your last tournament and still reach the final in front of home fans. Not even LCW/LD has that kind of perfect retirement.

lmao... keep that flame alive...you're gonna need a lotta wood to keep it going til 2024.

In stark contrast stands the INA WD pair...a prime example of mental fortitude. Positive at all times... even when down, or after losing a hard point. They never lost belief in themselves for a second. That's the mental strength that leads to victory.

my god that jump from VA, guess SYQ is clueless at the moment, he needs to break VA’s greatest strength which is his confidence, then he will give it to you

SYQ struggling to respond to VA's cross court defense from his smash from what I can see so far. Let's see if he notices it second set.
