CHN really about to sweep again, I can't believe it. I gotta admit their mentality is on another level when it comes to big event like this :)

We'll see. Marin's mentality is on another level from any Chinese WS player, so they lucked out there. Chinese Taipei has a good shot in MD.

Ya, I think it was due to Ahsan's injury that they did not defend their MD title in WC14. As for Rio, was it the pressure to deliver the gold after winning WC15?

Ahsan did made it to the final in WC17 without Setiawan, but they decided to team up together because they complement and understand each other playing style.

With Setiawan slower now, Ahsan has to step up his game in this partnership.

It may just be me, but these Olympics don't really "count" in my mind - they will always be known in history as "those" Games...

Just one of those day when your opponents are faster, more accurate, and played almost the right shot every single time.

just watched the match between the daddies and wang lee, since when wang are that good ? he was solid on his defense and barely made any mistake with his drive, I always knew lee yang are good but wcl was the difference imo

let's see if wcl can keep that form in the final or will he back to his old self

Lee Wang is exceptional. Their play is pretty similar to ina flat play. It seems they are faster than daddies in flats. Both their smashes are threatening. MD final will be a good one.

thought Soh played really well in G1. Have never see him Attack from rear court so well. He is in fact taking the lead in the partnership. G2 is otherwise.

Tai almost lost it. She was lost in G1. Can see that she is very stressed. She managed to be herself from G2.
Nevertheless, it’s a tight game. RI played really well. Sad to see her cried. Heard yuta cried too after losing MD game.

overall, today’s games are wonderful. Even XD final was exceptional.

but credits to them for being there at this age. They will get slower while the younger ones get faster and better ... but still Wang/Lee has been in their best ever form!! Pouncing on every opportunity and mistakes

My take is ASY put up a really good fight, her game showed maturity for her age, now 19. Kudos to her.

Just that I felt she seemed to be trying to become an all-round player too soon when she has yet to raise her attacking ability which is needed to finish the point off as you just can't expect to wait for your opponents to make mistakes for badminton at the top. At the moment, she is more like a pretty good stroke rallying player.
