He beat CL in the 2011 World Championships then sustained some big injury for a long time

Pretty weak start by Jonathan Christie. Good start by SYQ. I didn't know how SYQ would play since he had that injury and was away from top international tournament play for such a long time. And then covid hit and team China never really participated in any international tournament for the last 1.5 years. So SYQ has had very little international competition in the last 2.5 years I think.

Due to Covid and the fact that the Chinese team not participating until the Olympics, I feel like it is SYQ time to shine. Looks like he recovered from his injury well and hopefully his mental game is strong as it used to be when he went against Momota in the WTF in 2018. More to come for SYQ.

Chinese pair's screaming is excessive, it's like 5 seconds after every point...

They want to destabilize their opponents. I raised that point yesterday but no one cared. With the absence of an audience - I believe these screams have become more effective.

Also a good way to get rid of nervousness too! :D I need to incorporate that in my game, not as loud as Carolina Marin (no offense).

Who is the commentator for JC SYQ on Eurosport? Anybody knows?
The comments are rather basic (not really, but still)
