The fault was a service (too high) fault against HuangDP. Not sure how that would be related to KOR downfall.
As predicted, end of road for Jordan/Oktavianti who present dismal performance since the beginning of OG including today's quarterfinal, slow starter to balance the monstrous speed Zheng/Huang, the Indonesians have chance actually when they levelled up the scoriline 14-14 all, break their rival successfully but the Chinese are back to business just in time and seal the opening, 21-17. The script isn't much different in second game as top-seed dictating the pace entire match, Huang YQ interception is really effective to contribute point when her partner smash seem blunt and fail to break INA solid defense. Close encounter happens in JPN-THA duel, the well determined and ambitious WataHiga outwit the dispirited Puavaranukroh/Taerattanachai who quite run out of steam in deciding game. Thai duo doesn't display their real form who supposed to be, under pressure and less confidence gesture. The Japanese will take on their nemesis Wang/Huang who dispose Seo/Chae in two straight-games, interesting second game turnaround in this match when second seed comeback from behind to grab 8 consecutive points and leaving the Koreans in frustration. One remaining semifinal ticket goes to HKG lefthanders Tang/Tse, defeating European sole survivor in this category Ellis/Smith straightforwardly. In singles category, Ratchanok Intanon has trouble to pass Malaysian Sonia Cheah before she turns into full gear in second and third game particularly. Intanon should be wary to next opponent, Gregoria Mariska. Other contenders power past their opponent and expected will face tougher match in last sixteen.
at 14-8. There was a shot that landed in on KOR court. Chae raised her arm but not at the umpire. She was facing away from the umpire. As a result, umpire correctly didn't interpret that as a challenge.
Which match looks good for the next session? I probably wanna watch momota’s match, maybe lee zi jia or ginting
I don't see that. I replayed that sequence quite a few times. After the shot landed, the umpire didn't say "fault" and just nodded his head. Even Gillian Clark says Chae raise her arm for challenge. Which should indicate that the line judge called out. Unfortunately TV view didn't show the line judge decision.
I heard Gillian Clark too but she didn't know what was the issue which made me to think that she is not at the venue and is commenting from elsewhere. The outcome could have been different.
Kevin Cordon is playing like a maniac. The HK commentators are really worried. Ka Long has lost his confidence
Kevin Cordon with 5 point lead in the 2nd game, Cordon is a talented player he can be tricky to play with.
