So who will advance into last four and contest for badminton medal? The top-two Chinese pair are highly favourite despite they have unprecedented long break 16-month absence but their performance has no significant effect for those disadvantage circumstances. Home favourite Watanabe/Higashino are the next contender to secure semifinal berth unless the Thai hotshots regain their confidence after lost to GBR combination. Well, Ellis/Smith perhaps have prospect to create breakthrough and inspired by their predecessor Robertson/Emms to step up into next round.

Actually Korean beat minions before. So minions are lucky.

Sonoda beaten ahsan before also in so.

It will boils down to the form of the day. Who makes less mistakes and dominate the net faster will win.

    Semis shd be nice.

Maybe bwf need to readjust the wd and md qtr back to seedings just to be fair or make it exciting.

The two weakest pairs by far (Hong Kong/Great Britain) face off and the winner gets a shot at a medal...

Mind blowing that the Olympic committee thinks round robin is a good format.

I thought PraMel were holding back in the game against Yuta and Arisa. I guess this really IS their form.

Praveen is the only one scoring points. And he is trying so hard to cover for Melati's mistakes that it messes up his game.
Game over for them I think.

I guess the Indonesians just needed some warm-up - the gap is closing now : 12-14.

I feel like he is the one that’s messing up the game. He looks very nervous.

He is the only on who has scored all the points not resulting of opponent's mistakes.
He even created opponent's forced errors.

I marvel at this. Melati is non existent on court and people are blaming Praveen.

He scored 10 winners but he also the one who give the opponent 6-7 free points, typical praveen honestly

Woman XD players from Indonesia are always lazy (bar liliyana and maybe debby) so it's no surprise to see this result.

Melati's task is to set up her partner, even when they won french open-denmark open-AE melati wasn't really scoring so many winners like praveen

Liliyana was pretty lazy after the rio olympics (mostly because of her injury) and she still won the WC in 2017 lol, I guess class is permanent
