Maybe it is because Marcus Ellis is already playing mixed doubles and they don't want him to get tired playing two disciplines

That was tough to read. Man hardly ever being fully funded athlete and then exceeding any expectations to win bronze at Rio. You would think that they would let him represent GB one more time.

i don't expect the environment to change anytime soon. especially when those in charge love being dictators. also, somebody needs to insist on an impartial 3rd party audit of badminton england's book$.

bwf's mandatory team structure is 98% to blame for this situation. how do i come to that #? simple. 98% of tournaments are individual tournaments. so, why does bwf insist on granting federations power over individual athletes in an individual sport 98% of the time?

Lauren Smith seems to be training at the National Badminton Centre again. What's happened there?

    What's Chris Landgridge doing now?

''Badminton England must introduce "some fundamental cultural, behavioural, and procedural changes" in order to deliver its Olympic and Paralympic programmes, a report has found.''

''The report has outlined six recommendations for change.

These included a need to improve safeguarding protocols, foster better relationships between individuals within the programme, develop clearer communication between all parties and integrate a world-class multi-disciplinary team to help with sport science, medicine and wider support.''
