According to announcement that published on 21 December 2020, the World Ranking will be re-opened on 2 February 2021 after the conclusion of Asian Leg in Bangkok => https://corporate.bwfbadminton.com/news-single/2020/12/21/tournament-calendar-2021/

    Re-Opening BWF World Rankings

The BWF World Rankings will reopen following the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2020 being hosted in Week 4 2021. The calculation of the next BWF World Rankings list will be announced on Tuesday 2 February 2021, based on the following principles:
    • Tournaments already included in the BWF World Rankings list as of 17 March 2020 will remain.
    • Tournaments counting for the BWF World Rankings hosted after 17 March 2020 will be added to the BWF World Rankings list being calculated for 2 February 2021.
    • Tournaments sanctioned as world ranking tournaments going forward after 2 February 2021 will be added weekly.
    • No tournaments already included in the BWF World Rankings from 17 March 2020 will be dropped off the rankings until a date to be announced.
    • The BWF World Rankings will be in a transition period and will consist of tournaments from more than 52 weeks. The exact drop-off methodology to reestablish a 52-week World Rankings list is still to be determined and will be announced in due course, but with advance notification.
The BWF World Rankings from 2 February 2021 will thereafter be used for M&Q and seeding.

Here's WR latest update after quite long time freezed by BWF since 17th March 2020.

Bad move from BWF to use 2x the same tournaments , especially the WTF points where only top players can play and definitely will have more chance for higher points like LeeWang & AhsanHendra.

agree with you, use 2 times the same tournaments is a very bad move, really not fair.

Counting same tournament twice from two editions.

Interesting to notice latest BWF World Ranking (30/03/2021) where there're several tournaments in 2019 have been removed from calculation (Orleans Masters, IND, MAS, SGP and Continental Championships) : https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/ranking.aspx?rid=70

oh gosh Momota in deep trouble, many points and tournaments to defend, with Axelsen doesnt need to defend anything plus already a very good 2021. Looks like Axelsen will end WR1 for year 2021.

Same with Minions & ZhengHuang. Hit the CHN players hard because they didnt participate 4 tournaments this year.

BWF getting crazier and crazier. Tt was like telling the NT to play in pandemic. They didnt play TO and now the 4 tournaments got removed. oh well.

Apparently, the administration error was detected yesterday, the new version has been fixed and no tournaments have been removed so far, BWF repeats same mistake several times that confusing badminton fans about ranking latest update:rolleyes:

this bullet point is quite absurd: "No tournaments already included in the BWF World Rankings from 17 March 2020 will be dropped off the rankings until a date to be announced."

this leads to the situation that currently players can still have results from March 2019 in their rankings. Koki Watanabe (https://bwf.tournamentsoftware.com/ranking/player.aspx?id=27759&player=1069030), for instance, still has his title from Orleans Masters 2019 in his ranking. This result is more than 2 years and 7 months old. Quite ridiculous if you ask me. I know. players had little chances to compete, but this is quite absurd.

Yes, first class solid gold unacceptable about current BWF WR point calculation.
