I appreciate your bringing the subject up, and am with you 100%. I am still waiting for @kwun to provide a progress report. There has been plenty of time to restore the content, ... almost a year; but there are no signs of any movement in this direction.

People like you are kindly offering their technical expertise, and funds could possibly be raised to defray the time and cost involved in restoring the data. Whatever the case, twelve years of Momota's badminton history, as seen by fans and foes alike, deserves to be salvaged, in all its glory and all its ugliness,... if at all possible. As you mention, there was historical value in the content, something that should not be glossed over.

I second @kurako 's opinion and I also would be interested to hear a status update from the administrators. Maybe @kwun can provide a brief update?

Here's an example of how those original posts were used :):

I've read through the entire original thread once, and was in the process of reading it again when it disappeared. I didn't start following professional badminton until the end of 2017 so the original thread was invaluable in filling me in to what happened in Momota's early career. There isn't much information out there regarding what happened, that is not in Japanese, and what information there is, didn't paint him in a very good light. The passionate posts around that time filled in the gap and gave me a different perspective to Momota as an athlete and, more importantly, as a person who deserved a second chance and my support. To be honest, I probably wouldn't have found myself supporting him as much as I am now if the online English articles were all I read. I can remember feeling a bit of disdain when I first read the Wikipedia post about him. It was something like "What's with this guy?" kind of feeling :D.

Future non-Japanese badminton fans deserve to know the full Momota story, like I did. Please consider restoring the original thread for their sake (and also so that I can finish rereading the thread a second time :p).

I only reply this and i wont talk about lzj again. Well not only momota but other players even axelsen, i.e the way he was shouting for each points and for momota the way he killed that net shot.

For me it was disrespectful. Enough about lzj now.

Hopefully Momota comes back way stronger!

Only a few months and a few tournaments left before the Olympics.

Japan won and dominated 4 out 5 categories. To be clear, KM did now show up at the AE without any competitive time (national tournaments). At least not less than his peers who dominated the AE.

Now I would like to know if it is a mental or a physical issue? I do believe he simply missed a little bit of confidence and may be his opponents also stepped up their game? It is not impossible, it's not like others can't improve too right (both mentally and physically).

I really can't help but wonder if KM would be more confident at this stage of the season if he had participated in the previous international tournaments. I also wonder if he could have imposed his ways with the NBA and participate in those previous tournaments. It would have been game changing imo. But what about his teammates then...

Or I am totally wrong and he has been more affected physically than I believe? Or a little bit of both?

I feel it is the ring rust effect and also some of the players have improved and they clocked more tournament hours compare to KM. I feel he will be back on his foot soon once he get more wins.

Nakanishi: Ginting, Shi, VA, AA, LZJ can be biggest rivals for KM in OG.

As much as it would make a great badminton final between Momota vs Ginting, Ginting is so inconsistent to core that his performance will have a non-zero 7th gradient.

Did you all notice km racket is too light? Omg. Its for ladies. No wonder his smashing is horrible. Not much power compared to the rest.

He shd change to 100zz better like exelsen. Saves his energy from smashing. Leverage on his hand power. It will Increase at least 10% in oower speed. ;)

So, Momota has already antibody to Covid 19 or not ???

We all knew that Momota was positive before landing to 3 consecutive Thailand tours, but I've heard that it's a fake positive case

He is really a fan. Not even sure that calendar is for 2021. :)

He seems to embrace the pressure of playing his first Olympics ever, at home, while being the favourite. I'd say that's the attitude to follow in his position. Now I'm less sure about him being back at his former top level and about the progression of his opponents.
