Thanks for the calcs, very interesting scale I guess the only other measure we're missing regarding body composition is how lean they are haha. LCW and LD were so little bodyfat % at their peaks, CL is probably low too compared to the rest.
JAPAN 4. TWO NEW CHAMPS Another Lee announces his arrival to be one of of world beaters in men's singles category, Lee Zii Jia fulfill huge expectation to Malaysia badminton fans post the illustrious Lee Chiong Wei retirement in 2019. Lee shows excellent form to beat defending champion Viktor Axelsen with his aggressive offensive style, sharp attacking shots. These two finalists eyeing tight net-shots to expect their opponent lift the shuttlecock then punished with lethal smash. It's very close battle, trading points in opening game that saw sudden-death scoreline when Lee took this crucial set. The winner of this tie actually is already known in mid of second game, 18-14 for Lee then some nervous shots produced by the Malaysian and let Axelsen catching up even forcing rubber games. Two close games have taken a toll to the Dane as described in lopsided scoreline, both players embraced and swap jersey after completed this marathon duel. A perfect win for Lee ZJ to defeat current world's top-two players en route to clinch All England title. Fresh faces have emerged for All England winner's list in last four editions, Shi Yuqi (2018), Kento Momota (2019), Viktor Axelsen and now 22 years old Lee Zii Jia. Nozomi Okuhara completed Japan big victory in All England and reclaims her 2016 crown. Her steady and less error play plus superb retrieving skill troubling the shaky Pornpawee Chochuwong to build up her game plan, she should push Okuhara into deep backhand corner rather than playing in mid court area. Her attacking shots aren't quite effective to break the Japanese strong defense who took command and dictating the pace of almost entire match. Overall, it's still major breakthrough for the Thai number two career, cruising into first ever last round of S1000 tournament as she took benefit of Carolina Marin withdrawal. Yuta Watanabe scores double doubles, he defends MD title paired up with Hiroyuki Endo overcome the always rushing Kamura/Sonoda who have no energy reserved in third game. Then Watanabe is back to mixed doubles action alongside his partner Arisa Higashino to vanquish the unseeded Kaneko/Matsutomo. In relax mood final match, two-time World Champions Matsumoto/Nagahara nail All England title, continuing Japan domination in women's doubles sector, overcome last year winner Fukushima/Hirota in two straight games. Race of Tokyo will resume this week in low-tier tournaments, Orleans Masters (S100) and Polish Open (International Challenge).
the most important factor is center of gravity. players of identical height will not move the same. having a middle to lower c.o.g enables smoother footwork, better balance and quickness like lzj. having a high c.o.g. makes it harder to change directions. that's why it's important for axelsen to beef up his legs. this is why a strong base and footwork are the most important aspect of sports. picture all the best athletes and goats in all sports. what % of great athletes or goats in any sport has (or had) a high c.o.g.?
Any equivalent stats for women’s singles players over the last ten years? It’s pretty interesting stuff.
Yuta has won 8 SS in his career, 3 in MD and 5 in XD. If he were to give up, which sector will he gives up? It looks good when its winning. Still, he has equal win-loss ratio in Final. It was story like SSJ where he did really well in Thailand (3 tournaments) but ended up with no titles. Really think he should have won at least 1 if not 2 had he focused.
27 years at AE huh? Its a long time but Its okay, not more shocking than China not winning ChinaOpen MD for 20 years considering that INA is probably weaker in MS than China is in MD. Home and Away ground too. the biggest question is will there be AllEngland next year. INA NOC has thrown the case to CAS yesterday. if they won, there will likely be no AE next year. I dont know if this is good, there will be prejudice the next time round no matter what the matches are after this fiasco. For example, INA players might get faulted in doubles match , etc. Other ramifications means there will be less badminton tournaments. ( you can say this is already ongoing)
Both Ginting and Christie have poor record in All England, it's hard to believe they never pass last sixteen round since initial participation in 2016.
I think the better solution is to hash things out when Team England comes to the INA open some time later this year : ) Don’t let it carry over to next year’s AE.
All the winners used shadow clone jutsu from Naruto. LZJ asked Kento Momota how to do it after he beat him.
Well, all the data i extracted myself. I am not a fan of WS, so far a start, maybe you can suggest 10 players for me to look into. Lets have them in the 21 points era, 5 good players from the past,.and 5 currently playing
Chen Long is quite the unit but he never seemed to be working against his bulk the way VA does. Maybe VA needs to stop skipping leg day, I dunno.
I don't think he's underweight so much as his weight is in the wrong places. He needs more legs, IMO.
Yeah SSJ put up an inspiring performance in Thailand but his partner CYJ was the weak link. He was doing all the work in XD, while at the same time playing rear court for MD.
We are used to hear so many FAMILIAR phrases and sentences from Gill Clarke and Morten. But, it is interesting to hear some of unheard phrases / sentences from Paul Hand. I have heard few of those from him. ---> " Somebody call the police" ----> " Cheeky Monkey" Etc. Anybody else heard any new words from him?
