Let us know how it went. What was your time to string your first racket.

with all preparation, 20min lunch, several light f*ups and enjoying my time, first racket done 5 hours later. I will probably write a review of the machine later, after several more raquets. First impression on the machine is verygood, especially clamps and clamp bases.

What happened to your original ES5 Pro clamps? Broken?

Think this is my final paint of this machine. The turntable was a Nissan navy color looks almost like Protech 8 Deluxe color. All done at home in the cold and wind in Chigasaki Japan. Pretty stoked at my d.i.y. ghetto spray can paint job. No more dings in my tray, but my autographs are gone. Sabine Lisicki ( she had the fastest womens tennis serve in the world at one time, I was stringing for her at the tournament but not that day) LCW, TBH, KKK, Taufik, and Tago all gone.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

Tried to add yellow carbon fiber vinyl, clamps look ok but arms a little sketchy =). Next project is ES5 Pro I bought on Yahoo auction.[IMG][IMG][IMG]

Next project. Already started sanding down the base, tray and turntable. My arms are sore from sanding but a lot of fun to see paint chips disappear![IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I didn't want to open a new thread for one question so thought I'd ask here. I'm looking to buy the WISE tension head (finally!) to go onto the Penta Premium 3600 and I know I need the low adaptor plate. Is there anything else I need? Do I need the digital tensioner? It seems pretty expensive, and they're calibrated from factory right?

I'd love to upgrade my base machine as well, but I've already got the fairly decent AEF clamps and upgraded side supports, and I don't mind the bases too much, so for now I'll hold off on having to spend another £600+ for the relatively small gains.

Sounds like a reasonable plan. The WISE upgrade surely has more impact than changing the base machine.

And the good news is that you only need the adapter plate and you’re good to go. The machine is self-calibrating and if you really want to check if it’s calibrated properly, you can as well use a cheap digital luggage scale.

Perfect, thanks! And I already have a cheap luggage scale.

Hmm £100 for extra 3 years warranty to bring it to 5 years? They're pretty reliable right? And they can be serviced if something goes wrong outside of warranty?

I wouldn’t spend that extra money. As you say, they are really durable and can be serviced if necessary.

And maybe ask the seller if it already got the firmware upgrade that solved the „jumpy tensioner issue“. See separate thread.

Ok brill, thanks. Seems like gefensports is cheapest at £500 + £45 adaptor plate + £12 delivery. You know if they're a reputable company? Otherwise racquetdepot close by at £20 more.

Afaik both are reputable sellers but I haven’t dealt with any of them yet.

Ask both the question regarding the firmware upgrade and you might get a glimpse which of them probably has the better customer support.

    True! :D
I'll order it towards the end of the week as I'm away for a few days now. Can't wait! Been wanting one for ages. And I have about 12 rackets waiting to be restrung. :)

Take your time to get to know the WISE properly and expect a certain period to really get used to the new process. It takes a while until you can fully unlock and enjoy the magic of an electronic tensioner.
Oh, and don’t forget to post pictures.
