ms final was more of the walking around competition, and not playing at all, probably the worst ever watched final day, only MD/WD was more or less not without huge amount of mistakes, but yea after such a long period without normal level of competition it is expected that general level of playing quality is really low
European players rule singles diciplines... Carolina Marin is too dominant in today's final as Tai Tzu Ying looked in unwell condition, the supposed to be high quality duel ended with one sided clash. The Taiwanese favorite can't endure her opponent aggressive mode, lack of accuracy, under pressure throughout the match. Overall, Marin is better player completely, well prepared to retrieve cross court netshot then unleashes several disguising dropshot to outwit Tai TY. A great start for the Olympic Champion in this new season. It's predictable plot in men's singles final, Viktor Axelsen smashes Ng Ka Long as world #8 can't do too much rather than lifting shuttlecock, long rallies then committed unforced errors. The fully confident Dane had passed his sternest test in semifinal as Ng delivers little trouble for Axelsen, a repeat story to add losing record. Former World Champion affirms his consistency as top player. Next, THA Open part II will commence on Tuesday.
So if BWF follows ATP ranking (points) means the tournaments for 2021 will be double chances and players will be allowed to use the higher points.. so basically picking 10 out of 30+ tournaments. Benefits the less ranked players but doesnt take away the points of the higher ranked players. I think this is more or less will be like that.
BWF World Tour Ranking (after Yonex THA Open 2021) - unofficial : MS 1) Viktor Axelsen (DEN) - 45,220 2) Anders Antonsen (DEN) - 32,420 3) Rasmus Gemke (DEN) - 32,220* 4) Chou Tien Chen (TPE) - 32, 120 5) Ng Ka Long (HKG) - 30,220 6) Wang Tzu Wei (TPE) - 28,640 7) Kidambi Srikanth (IND) - 26,560 8) Lee Zii Jia (MAS) - 26,390 9) Anthony Ginting (INA) - 22,820 WS 1) Carolina Marin (ESP) - 61,820 2) Tai Tzu Ying (TPE) - 30,000 3) Ratchanok Intanon (THA) - 29,850 4) An Se Young (KOR) - 28,740 5) Pornpawee Chochuwong (THA) - 27,260 6) Busanan Ongbamrungphan (THA) - 24,870* 7) Evgeniya Kosetskaya (RUS) - 23,750 8) Michelle Li (CAN) - 22,340 9) Saina Nehwal (IND) - 20,580
Without the players from Japan & China, the WTF is only good to reassure the sponsor. It is therefore a tournament with almost no sporting value! BTW - Do you also have the intermediate results from the double disciplines? TIA!

Srikanth kidambi started to train. But I dont know with whom he would train. Indian players left except sindhu. So.... And Sindhu is in terrible form. No expectations from both this time. Hope they don't finish last in their respective group.
BWF statement Viktor has 28 consecutive wins, but how can ? He's just won 4 consecutive tours = 20 wins
He participated in Spain Masters in Feb 2020 and won it. Later All England in March 2020. And then this two Thailand opens 2021. He did not participate in Denmark !. Then how ?
lol posted exact same thing on Srikanth's thread, it would be much much better for him to train with coach than with PV.
