Some repeat drawings will occur in quarterfinal.

Probably Marin-An Se Young semifinal replay as bottom-half draw look limping in the withdrawal of two Japanese stars Okuhara and Yamaguchi. Tai Tzu Ying who was unable to deliver her prime performance in first THA Open final has quite tough path en route to last round this week, Michelle Li, Ratchanok Intanon, Pusarla Sindhu among possible opponent in last eight and final four.

INA fails to bag MD title in just concluded tournament are expected to redeem unsatisfied outcome here. Two leading pairs The Daddies and Alfian/Ardianto have opportunity to cross sword in quarters while teen sensations Carnando/Marthin will take on Danish number one Astrup/Rasmussen in opening round. The newly-crowned Yonex THA Open Lee/Wang find easy test in early round.

The Koreans are predicted to rectify their disappointing outing and the chance looks wide open in lower-half draw, the highest ranked Kim/Kong may meet their conqueror, home favourites Kititharakul/Prajongjai in last eight. Polii/Rahayu should be wary of local hurdles Taerattanachai/Supajirakul firstly before have smooth road into next round.

All England Champs Jordan/Oktavianti couldn’t ask for tougher opening test, French exuberant youngsters Gicquel/Delrue whom they beat in semifinal of Yonex THA Open. Top-seed THA strong combination will start campaign to meet NED pair Tabeling/Piek. Another title contenders, Chan PS/Goh LY, Choi/Seo have relatively uncomplicated task to tackle at first round.

So many highly talented players with such shaky mental fortitude these days...

if lzj doesn't find his killer instinct from within one of these days he'll be known as a colossal waste of talent. just another player w/ tons of talent, skills and no brains. that would be sad. as for now it's frustrating to watch.

Rubber is good enough for LeoDaniel.

I think of Leo is he is such steady server. even won 2 serve on the lines that was challenged.

But is he such a great talent? I think the problem with players like Lee, Christie and also Antonsen is that they are actually overrated, at least if you look at their results. They have a single WJC medal (bronze, LZJ) between them and, given that LZJ already turns 23 in two months and Christie and Antonsen will be 24 this year, they have not a lot to show for it. LZJ hasn't won anything, and I mean anything of note, Christie has won a single noteworthy tournament (over two years ago, carried by home enthusiasm) and Antonsen also has only won one real tournament (Indonesia 500, Denmark 2020 was...well).

Granted, there are some good results for each of them, like Antonsen's silver at the WC, or Christie's Japan Open final, but if you compare that to the real top players like Momota, Axelsen (#1 and 2 World Tour Finals titles at 23), SYQ (SS title at 21, All England and WTF titles at 22) or even Ginting (SS title at 20, China 1000 with the hardest draw possible at 21, 2 more 500 titles and 3 really close final losses against KM at 23), they come up short by a considerable margin.

They all might turn into world beaters (within a short period of time even), but I think overall they have already done quite well in relation to whatever promise they showed as youth players.

Antonsen biggest win is beating Momota at Indonesia Master without coach..

    i think the level is Momota - Axelsen - Antonsen/Ginting - JC/LZJ

the reason why is Ginting style of play.. you can say before pandemic he finds it tough against many oppositions but his style is the kind of style that can win or eke out 1 game out of Momota or beating him 3x ( its actually hard to do so in Single), you are either good or not good, like how Tommy lost to LCW 20x. Its not like Doubles where styles can be changed. Thats why Axelsen finds it hard and only beat Momota what 1/2x (despite them being at same age and have many more chances to play each other)

Really spot on, no doubt some already reach the top form. At best maybe top 10 or top 20 players for the rest of their career. Occasionally winning the big one like christie asia games gold.
