    Jonas,

Commiserations for your efforts at the world championships.

There is a lot of debate on the 'wind' factor in the arena.

Could you tell us your perpective on how it affected players during the tournament?

Jonas, The quaterfinal match between your pair and Candra/Sigit was a close one. Has the draught affected your the quaterfinal match against the Indon pair which you eventually lost?

    You're right.

There was a lot of wind in the hall and it changes during the tournament. Of course it affects our play, but we just adapt to it and change our game. You need to think a lot about which direction you hit the shuttle in every shot you make, otherwise, it will be over very quick as the shuttle might be carried two-three meters off-court too many times.

Sigit and Candra are very good at controlling the wind especailly in their defence. We had many chances to kill the points, but they are just amazing at retrieving almost impossible shots.

In the end I think it was one of the great matches of the tournament and for that I'm proud to be part of.

    Kind Regards

    JR

The wind speed changed, also the direction

What seemed the worst was when it blew diagonally across the courts and could cause a shot to go out the back line as well as out the downwind sideline.

We had a long thread about this topic:

I think, just like me, most BF members find it disappointing that WC event had to suffer such wind conditions that shaded the result of some games.
I hope it will be fixed in future tournaments.

    JR,

I can't use words to express the excitements I felt for this game. To me, this is the real "WC05 FINAL". I am sure there will be more glorious games in the future, thanks for the great game!

I've run into you a couple of times, but was shy enough to ask for a picture.:crying:

    Jonas,
Your team did play well in this QF again Sigit/Chandra. In fact, this is one of the most exciting matches in this WC I've ever watched. And it's memorable one !!! It's has so much variety in your game, that I believed it has difinately given the Indos pair a good fight ..
WELL DONE !:D hope to see you soon in Indo Open...

TOO BAD about the wind problem, did affect most of the player right ??
