I think people would be surprised that majority of doubles pros play 4u especially if the racket is even or head heavy balanced. 3u 88D is for slower rallies like in doubles at lower levels
I don't think a lot of them were explicitly told what to do. LCW put 21-28 for the "weight" section which presumably he meant as the tension limits for the racquet himself. Then wrote 3ug4 in the grip size, so the formatting isn't very consistent between players. And Sukamuljo put 3u on his racquet and he's probably yonex's most heavily marketed MD player. I know that. I'm just saying that it is not impossible for a player to choose that weight. Who knows if a professional player might like that weight. Just choose the weight you prefer.
