Ive bought a couple of Spielers to try out. The P09.1 and new colour A09.1 I briefly tried the red A09.1 a while ago with factory strings which impressed me so im looking forward to trying these out once restrung.
P09.1 specifications sounds good. The color however is ... trash. It's really hit or miss with adidas. They made some awesome looking rackets for sure, but this one just looks super cheap. Hope it's better in reality. Wondering if we will get dark blue P7 in Europe. Maybe it's a matter of taste but those mint colors paired with the orange grommets are really hurting my eyes.
The P09.1 is available in other colours in different regions. I think it looks far better in the flesh. It feels well made from bending and swinging. It will be a week or two before I can try it out
Interesting grip designs. I prefer the red/black A09.1 colourway though. Similar spec to the P2 on the P09.1 so I bet its nice, softer carbon though. It would be worth a look if i wasnt trying to tame the P8, and i think I'd prefer the stiffer carbon in the P2. Sent from my SM-J510FN using Tapatalk
Which new Adidas racket/family should I look for if I want something as near as my Adipower duoforce? Ubershall, Kalkul...? Stiff and headlight
It looks far better than it does in photos. I have the orange version and it goes very well with red strings like Aerobite. I can tell you, from 5 weeks using it, that its paint quality is supreme. I’m used to isometric head shape before this so I’m applicable to mishits, many and it doesn’t chip, scratch or anything, just casually wipe it off and it’s as good as new. I do notice a bit of protrusions of the decal at the grommets where the decal is applied, you’ll know what I’m talking about after stringing it, but it’s fine, a few very very minor dent in the racket at the grommets (saw when rotating them) but it’s all good. Mine is a bit different as well, far more shiny and sprinkling than any other P09.1 I saw in many shops. I kid you not haha *Edited*
I don't know the old adidas rackets, but the current lineup doesn't really offer a stiff/HL racket. Even the A5 is not that stiff and balanced at best. I'd say it's still slightly leaning towards the head. I assume for stiff/balanced the A3 is closest and for mediumstiff/HL the P1. This is just based on the official specs since I only played A5 and F09.1 so far.
I have the P1 and like it quite well, but want more stiffnes like the Duoforce. Duoforce spec is 283+-3 grams. Feels like I want to give Kalkul a try, but not shure which one. Specwise is A2 and A3 closest...does anybody have the experience of A2...how is the stiffness? A more HL racket should feel a bit stiffer than same shaftthecnology on a racket with a higher balancepoint I think.
Ive used A3 and A5 side by side, the A5 was lighter overall and had less head weight. The A3 has a more powerful feel whereas the a5 is slightly better for defense and precision. The A5 felt stiffer which may have been related to the combination of less head weight and 30T carbon rather than 24T carbon of the A3.
The A2 is noticeably less stiff than A3 and A5. I compare it to a bravesword 12 spec but with the feel of a jetspeed, hopefully that helps. I agree about less head weight giving a stiffer feel and vice versa but in this instance the A2 still feels medium flex.
Here are the reviews of the A3, A5 and some other adidas rackets I did a while ago. https://www.badmintoncentral.com/fo...adidas-badminton-racquets-2018.176494/page-14 I will do the same again with my latest purchases and test rackets when they are strung and I'm able to get on court.
I will be mostly jumping on to the Adidas Bandwagon, I just want to get over the 88D 4U (what impressed me was the selective flexing due to the NAMD, but sadly it broke just before the corona lockdown came in), can anyone suggest me a racquet that might be comparable to it. Mostly, from what I have read in this and the previous Adidas subtopic, I am more inclined towards the Kalkul A3, so is it anywhere comparable to the 88D 4U in terms of feel and power?
