CTC seems to have lost psychologically? Going to be a boring match if it's the same in the 2nd game

It looks like CTC is more focused on CA's reaction when he celebrate than his game. CTC gave a few angry glances at VA since the net incident at the end of G1. Seems like it got in CTC's head.

What are you talking about? FukuHiro won the last 2 meetings over Chen/Jia and they’re the pair Chen/Jia struggle with the most out of the top 3 JPN pairs. They also beat 2 Korean pairs on their way to the final. They did all of the work themselves.

Well, good tactic from VA then. Interesting also that CTC rarely smashes from the forehand side. He has less attacking options, so it has been a safe spot for Axelsen

VA only won because KM wasn't there. His win will always be with an asterisk.

When cold, the jersey can hurt there with the constant friction. I have to tape it too otherwise it's irritated and hurts after playing. May be he tape it for different reason such as white transparent like jersey etc.

Just like Axelsen is Momota's whipping boy, CTC is Axelsen's whipping boy. This win puts Axelsen's H2H against CTC as 10-2.

It's a matter of style and anticipation that makes the difference for Axelsen when he plays CTC, just as style and anticipation affects Axelsen against Momota. Momota has the right style of play and Axelsen just can't anticipate Momota. Against CTC however, CTC's style fits Axelsen and Axelsen doesn't have too much trouble reading CTC. At a few points in the game, when Axelsen lifted to the back court of CTC, I could see Axelsen cheat and move towards the net, as if Axelsen knew CTC was going to return to the net. And Axelsen was right, more often than not.

Against Momota, Axelsen simply cannot read Momota. Of course, Momota is more consistent than CTC, which makes it harder. I also think CTC has difficulty in reading Axelsen's game. Momota has no difficulty in reading Axelsen's game.

Congratulations to Axelsen. Just like the 2017 WC, when Momota was not available to play, Axelsen takes advantage of Momota's absence. A well deserved victory for Axelsen.

It seems that there is a huge void now without Momota, and without prime era superdan and LCW. But I enjoyed the matches with youngsters like Lakshya Sen and LZJ. They at least had the will to try. But perhaps this is also the bane of players without a whole armada of a national set up. I'm not sure who CTC spars with and how his self training regime is. How many mishits and unforced errors were there? Arguably, VA forced most of the errors but CTC did send netkill opportunities into the net a couple of times.
