As usual, this thread is to cover all the small or lesser tournaments and events, such as BWF Tour Super 100, International Series, International Challenge, all the Junior Championships, perhaps some Continental/Regional Championships, etc.

In other words, a potpourri that normally either merits not a thread of its own or does not generate sufficient interest as to worth the trouble of creating one especially for it.

A sort of convenience thread, if you like.

The vietnam IC is another casualty.

Badminton World Federation (BWF) can confirm the decision to postpone the CIPUTRA HANOI – YONEX SUNRISE Vietnam International Challenge 2020 until 2-7 June, due to continued concerns over the Covid-19 outbreak.

The decision was made on the advice of the Vietnam Sports Administration linked to strict health protection restrictions in place in Vietnam.

    .......

Considering the new 2-7 June date, ranking points from this event will no longer contribute to Olympic qualifying as it will be outside the qualification window.

the points in a wt 100 were not likely to make a difference in qualification anyhow. especially with the other canceled wt 300 tournaments players were banking on in aggregate. now the swiss open wt 300 is pretty much irrelevant at this point whether it's canceled or not.

from what i can tell the all england will create very little movement in og qualification unless the malaysia open is not cancelled. those two combined have high points to cause movement, but, it only affects the top players since they don't do qualifying rounds for low ranked players. the lower ranked players who calculated their early 2020 schedule in the hope of snagging the 'last' og spots are done.

    tokyo 2020 will be goat-less.

It will take effect for the players who have critical position in Race of Tokyo.

As someone from a country that has a kinda low-ranked player, that maybe needs all the low level tournaments he can get, this might affect his Olympic chances.
