hi, i am looking into joining a one or two week (4-5 hr per day training) badminton intensive training camp in south east asia. I am a club level recreational player based in HK and am looking to improve my game. i am looking into malaysia due to there being lots of english speaking coaches at a relatively low cost.

so far I have come across
    - tactical badminton in KL (taman oug) with coach andrew which is USD 750 per week including accommodation.
    - new vision badminton in penang - i read somewhere its RM100 a month
    - taufik hidayat arena - around USD 2,000 a month

has anyone come across these programs or done any other similar type of intensive camp and could share their experiences?

    thanks in advance

My friend in HK went to tactical and enjoyed it. That was some years ago now.

New Vision definitely cannot be that cheap RM 100 for a month. Nowhere that cheap in Malaysia for a month.

The courts at tactical are great. Coach andrew is a great coach. I often see students from all over the world checking into tactical.

Let me know if you are coming. We can play a game or two =)

One week is a bit short and your main problem will be physical fitness and dehydration under hot and humid conditions for the first three days. That really only leaves two or three days left to train when used to the weather.

To get the most out of the trip, I suggest you have some program of increasing fitness in the two months before you travel.

Please let us know how the training goes. We love to hear people's experiences when going on these trips.
