A good prospect for him to secure final spot against home last man standing, Kunlavut Vitidsarn. Chance to take revenge over the not-so-good Shi Yuqi. Interesting encounter, both players are only separated by narrow margin in their WR standing and will affect All England seeding position next.
Thai ace ran out of steam, too many frequent errors in deciding game, possibly tired, thanks to Ohori tenacity. Top contender Carolina Marin stays on course for Bangkok mission, up against familiar rival Akane Yamaguchi. What happened to the legendary KOR doubles defence... Considering that KOR is applying a defensive strategy, they’re not doing a very good job of it...
It seems like KOR can’t defend or attack. They seem to be using twice the amount of effort and getting absolutely nowhere.
Kim heading towards the net on match point as the opponent is about to do an overhead shot...wow. KOR seem to have absolutely no idea how to win at the net and retake initiative. Maybe they need to hire an INA doubles coach...
Is it the hall or just that the chinese pair smashes are so much stronger? Their smashes have that "oomph" factor.
Nishimoto went to the final match. It's good that he finish the semi-final match in 2 games. I don't know Nishimoto's stamina is too weak or just a wrong tactic (or playstyle) that I see Nishimoto is always take a deep breath at the first game and it will be hell if the match has deciding game. As normal, if Nishimoto won a match in 3 games, there probably is he would lost at the next match after that.
I like how Nishimoto plays. Simple but effective. A good smash that he likes to actually play to win with, I like it.
FINAL (12.00pm) => https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/...E5610C-87CD-4B0B-991A-44DBFC1F59E2&d=20200126 Yellow card for Chen QC, the Chinese duo had better performance yesterday than Kim/Kong, Chen was so emotionally how she celebrated victory at the end of match. Another Korean hurdles, Baek HN/Jung KE await them to bag first title in 2020. Will Indonesia #2 pair Faizal/Widjaja finally capture the title here? Ellis/Smith look in good shape, toppled Malaysians Goh SH/Shevon Lai in very tight semifinal contest. Kenta Nishimoto is favoured to clinch MS crown based on head to head stats, 5-1 against Ng Ka Long but the Hong Kong player displaying progressive development recently, he tackled the lackdaisical Shi Yuqi straight forwardly, 21-18 / 21-19. Akane Yamaguchi halted Marin momentum in second game, almost ousted by the Spaniard, luckily she could manage well in crucial stages and it went quite smoothly in deciding game despite the Olympic Champion still delivered stiff resistance, 14-21 / 23-21 / 21-18. Facing An Se Young, Yamaguchi needs better tactic this time as she lost to Korean rising star in their two previous meetings. Ong YS/Teo EY show promising feat since dropped out from national set up, a wrong decision by BAM?
I have a prediction that MAS Ong/Teo will lose to CHN Liu/Huang in simple 2 straight games, see how Liu/Huang ‘destroyed’ the 2 MAS pairs Aaron/Soh & Goh/Tan recenty...
